Get your car loaded now with the things that are important. If you have a pile of dirty laundry just toss it in the car instead of packing as it will save time sorting things out.

They've got 2 choppers fighting the fire, 2 hours after it started.
Where the hell are the others?

They'll need about 6 if they want any chance in hell to stop the fire.

Flames are still huge. Choppers trying to control it. I'm close enough to feel the drips when the choppers with the buckets pass over. Very scary.

I'm staying put for now. No order for evacuation yet.

If you live in a house and have good water pressure, you may want to wet down dry grass, wood on the house and the roof. Flying sparks can start a fire anywhere.

Holy shit. Flames are only 400 metres away. No order for evacuation yet. You can almost feel the heat.

If you think you are in danger, get out of there, don't wait for orders.

Have the car packed and pointed out!

Cash, pictures, backup hard drive, pets, medicines, insurance policies,

Wet rag over the face to keep the smoke out unless you have a quality mask.

From Southern California brush fire experience.

Good luck.

Luke, California is prone to wild fires. It is amazing how quickly one can move. Please make us all feel better and get a jump start on the evacuation! We are worried about you. The worst thing that can happen by leaving before you have to is... NOTHING! Now get in the damn car!

A quarter of the Titahi Bay Isthmus is now in flames or smoldering. Luckily, that side is just full of gorse shrub and no houses. This fire has been going for nearly 4 hours, and there ain't any signs it's going to stop.

I am still close to fire, and the 4 bucket choppers are still reveberating the house, but it is now threatening houses south of my own.

Chopper trying to move in. This was before the fire was really close to my place.

Before it was bad. Everything downwind is now smoldering or in flames as I type. The building in front of me (Golf course) is so far safe.

Okay. Danger to my house is gone. Danger to other properties have increased.

These 3 images are probably the most terrifying stuff I've seen in the last few years. This is from my property. The fire was no more than 200 metres away,

Here is the view from outside the main driveway (access for 5 houses, including mine). Beyond the cordoned zone is a long street that is parallel to the fires path. They were all engulfed in fuming smoke.

Many people where watching it unfold. The location where I took this photo is now covered in smoke.
