Canadian Mist, gurl......Canadian Mist. Thank you, but I am partial to a nip of Amaretto myself. (Actually, my sleep drug of choice these days is Benadryl!) |

I can just imagine countless generations of friars turning in their graves. Or countless generations of friars bopping themselves on the head and saying "Just call me Father What-a-waste!" Hi back at you Carlos... Go Team Insomnia! |

I can just imagine countless generations of friars turning in their graves. Morning Angie, I see Yer with US for a bit. Are Ya ready for more rain? It's supposedly coming, Caltrans isn't going to like that as they have a landslide to try and clean up on a freeway transition road leading to the 57 north(totally buried last I saw on TV) CA-57 and the I10 freeways. A whole section of a hillside just slid right down cause of the rains and two types of soil, Lots of plastic sheets for that area, hopefully that'll fix that. Yes, for years I have scheduled my work shifts across 4 ten hour days so that (in theory) I have Fridays off. However, like any good little work-a-holic, I am chronically incapable of actually keeping things down to 40 hours. Paperwork, it seems, will expand to fill the container in which you place it. Happily, I have been mentoring a charming, bright and extremely capable new hire at work for the last couple of weeks, so I have not resented the extra demands on my time. I sit on all our department's hiring committees and I always lean towards candidates who come across as sharp. Technical knowledge is easily taught, but mental agility is a gift - not an acquisition. I love to see these young things get their wings and fly, fly, fly!!! |

No, mental agility has to be utilized, or it dies off, like many other appendages of our youth. Meow meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
