I'll be watching...
Not a particular fan of the night launches though. And I am very saddened by Obama's choice to cancel Constellation.

While we wait... A look back at one of my favorite launches, STS-129 in Full HD.

EDIT: Lets not get ahead of ourselves, it looks like the chances for acceptable weather have just been downgraded to 30%.

Not surprising really, President Obama doesn't have what President Kennedy had back then, What was that? The Race to the Moon of course, Otherwise Kennedy would have canceled It as He thought It was a waste of Money, It seems Republicans like NASA and Democrats don't or something like that at least and Yeah after $9 Billion in spending He wants to kill It, He's an elected and shortsighted myopic idiot who will set back any manned flight from the US for Years as It will take longer for those commercial places to make a Man Rated rocket and also to make one for Cargo that will be as good as the Ares V would be, Maybe We should sell Constellation to some other country like Japan or Australia or New Zealand... It would be better to see It lift off from somewhere as the US will not be going into space anymore on Its own after STS-134 If President Obama has His way with NASAs budget.

Pleeeeeeeeze don't get me started about JFK and his moon speech.

Our current history revolves around what he started.

And may we continue to search for his dream.......our dream.

Our dream...

The Seti search embodies it. The world expects it. We demand it.

We cannot expect less. One more time......watch again..... and listen......and dream again our dream.

OUR desire, OUR dream.

WE chose to go to the moon. Not because it was easy, but because it was hard.

One of the most profound statements ever made..........

Obama could not hold a candle to this man........ever. He is the most insignificant blip in this country's history that could ever be.

Many of you have not probably heard his entire speech that day.
Listen to it now.
You can afford to spend 18 minutes of your life to listen to what this man said.

We choose to go to the moon.......

It was revealed not too long ago from a recording JFK did with JFK's voice on It and He said If It weren't for the Russians He would have killed the Apollo Program as the Apollo Program as President Dwight D. Eisenhower's baby.

Apollo Program wiki wrote:
The Apollo Program was a NASA spaceflight endeavor that landed the first humans on Earth's moon. Conceived during the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower

Space Race wiki wrote:
In private conversation with NASA Administrator James E. Webb, Kennedy said:

Everything that we do ought to really be tied into getting onto the Moon ahead of the Russians. ...otherwise we shouldn't be spending this kind of money because I'm not that interested in space. ...the only justification for it [the cost] ...is because we hope to beat them [the Soviet Union] and demonstrate that starting behind, as we did by a couple years, by God, we passed them.

So as I thought I'd remembered, I was right, He wasn't all that crazy about It and as You'll notice Mark, President Kennedy only inherited the Apollo Program from a Previous Administration Just like President Obama did with Constellation.

Oh and as to Why Nixon continued Apollo? Simple Nixon was known as a rabid anti communist(Even though It did glorify Kennedy who beat Nixon), Something most of the Tea Partiers wouldn't know from a hole in the ground.

No of course not silly, I copied what is in the Historical record, It's in the wiki. As to Greatest that's debatable as that could be Washington or Lincoln or Theodore or FDR, etc. I heard the tape Myself as It was in the News for a day or so and I wouldn't make this up, But then who outside the JFK library or the Whitehouse at the time would have known about this. Also It turns out Khrushchev wasn't too keen on going to the Moon either, It took Him a year to come around to the idea and by then It was too late and He didn't even know It yet.

It's also mentioned here about Ike(President Eisenhower) starting the Apollo Program as He was President from 1953-1961.

Just under 17 minutes until launch now. Shuttle weather officer reports "green" for launch, even though weather is still 30%.

The Russians never scrubbed their missions due to weather. NASA, you are not impressing me recently.

Well, last time the didn't scrub for weather conditions was STS-51-L.

And Apollo 12 was a near disaster. "SCE to AUX" is one of my all time favorite quotes.

Edit: Here is a link to the legend.

Considering that there are only 3 of these Museum pieces left and NASA is about to have Its latest and possibly last Manned program killed, It's the prudent thing to do.

I think You mean 13, As 12 landed on the Moon and 13 was forced to do an Apollo 8 around the Moon, I was watching on TV when It happened, So I know, But then I'm old enough.

Good Night all U NASA fans, I'm going to sleep as It's past My bedtime here.
