Message 966848 - Posted: 30 Jan 2010, 5:34:16 UTC - in response to Message 966815.

It happend in our drive way. My brother in law was drive stock car and my dads freind was doing something while my brother in law was revving the car. He died right there.
Ive seen some strange stuff happen to cars and truckss. I saw a ladfy at a stop light, here front tire just flopped on the road. Her ball joint broke. Now can you imageing if she was doing 50 mph and that happend. I allso saw a drive shaft on a pickup truck come off. Again this guy was at the same stop light. he had just started driving when WAM i saw that sucker fly out from under that truck.
Hell Ive had 4 out of 5 lug nuts come loose on a wheel, and the last one was wobbly.

I can well imagine what can happen when a part of the suspension gives out.

I was driving down the interstate and saw the tail lights a quarter mile or so in front of me jump about 5 feet up, and then down further than they started followed by a shower of sparks. My instant reaction (which turned out to be right) was that there was an axle with 2 tires an half a crank shaft someplace between me and that truck. I nailed my brakes to the floor, and the motorcyclist that was tailgating me was seen to be putting his helmet on when he passed me.

I also saw the aftermath of a VW Microbus that had the tie rod break in the middle of a (fortunately slow speed) turn. The left tire pointed full left, and the right tire pointed full right.

I had a 61 Falcon and was doing about 50 miles per hour when the lower right ball join decided to fail. I had some trouble staying in my lane for the first fraction of a second but I was able to control the car and pull off safely to the side of the road. Besides the ball joint, the only other damage was to the side of the tire. As with any tire failure, don't slam on the brakes and you should survive it. The interesting thing about it was the replacement ball joint was much bigger. It turned out that the car was early 61 and about half way through the year they discovered the problem and beefed up the design.

Just past 12 AM here now. Off to bed.
Another beautiful ISS pass... another day in pain... another night testing my sleep patterns with an iPhone app called "Sleep Cycle".

It uses the accelerometer inside the iPhone to detect movement and judge your stage of sleep. It wakes you up in a window of time you specify the night before when you are sleeping the lightest. Presents you with a graph in the morning as well... and the amazing thing is is that it does work.

That's funny......I have cats that use their accelerometer to detect any movement I make and stare in my face until I pet them.
The difference is there is no sleep setting.......
You are in the kitty zone.

Good morning all. Luke, I juggle too. Oh and Mark there are lots of juggling tricks you can do with one hand, I often practice juggling two objects with one hand. Or a really fun thing to do is to stand next to another juggler. Each can use one hand. Just avoid chainsaws, molotov cocktails, rubber chickens and other objects of mass destruction.

Here's who I learned to juggle with. If you read their history, I was around in the early days. Ren Fairs and also Spokane.

My 87 year old neighbor invites the JW's in for the company. His kids and grand kids have jobs and school, so they can only visit on the weekends. His family does visit often. He is not a neglected or forgotten senior. It is just that during the week my neighbor's days are long... very very very long. Human contact is a valuable commodity.

Makes me rather grateful for my busy little life.

I have a dear old Uncle.....
Uncle Don....
He is a lifelong bachelor, like myself. He has a few family friends in town that try to attend to his needs. And they do a good job of that. But you knonw what really makes him light up? A simple phone call from me..........
Makes his day every time. He gave soooooo much to me when I was a kid.

So remembering to jump on the cell once in a while to talk to the ol' Donny is not so much to ask.

You might try it.........I am gonna right now.

Meow.
