My utility bills were as follows for last month(Elec $58.06; Gas $45.84), We'll see how much higher Mine and Yours go, My place leaks around the 2 exterior doors and has 3 single pane windows still, plus It needs painting and some caulking in the right place.

I am currently spending about $16 A DAY on Gas & Electric!

The temperatures just aren't warming up in the day & the coldest night for 25 years expected in some areas tonight. :(

Only $16, a Day?? Eek! Mine is per month. :D

That's like about $480 a month...

From someone a little further North in North America: For a 3 bedroom detached house, I average about $75 per month for gas, plus $110 a month for electricity. That includes BOINC, of course, plus it gets dark about 4:30 around here this time of year. Both will be a lot lower in about 5 months.

Of couse, that is all in Canadian $. Converting to US would be about 5% less (this week).

Did I win?

What a coincidence, It gets dark here around 4:51pm, 5% less or about $104.50, Yeah Mine is with 1 PC doing Boinc and It isn't even in the optimal config yet, Some more filters for Dust and It will be as the H50 is here(No cat hair anymore or at least not much is left, sigh:( ), But then I rarely even turn a light on at night, Unless I really need one of course.

Lets see last Month I had 2 outages on My DSL and My Phone(Landline, Cell is too expensive still) due to Verizons hardware being exposed to the rain and them taking almost until a week later to fix It and now cause of a complaint I lodged with the cpuc I now will have a credit on My bill of $5.24, Maybe more later as Verizon just updated My bill.

I know, it's going to cripple me financially this month if the cold continues. Everyone I know is hoping and praying that things will start to improve, but word is there is another major snowfall due over the weekend which will only add to the already laying ice & snow which is helping drag the temperatures down day & night.

I moved to this part of the UK for it's temperate climate - I may as well have gone to the North pole!

I have the cavity walls insulated but unlike the wooden framed houses of the US, our houses are made of brick, which is not such a good insulator & limits the thickness of any insulation without practically rebuilding the house. The loft is insulated, but it's cost prohibitive to insulate it any more. I have solid floors which are not insulated - and cannot retrospectively be insulated without major disruption & cost.

Like I said before - not built for the cold!

I feel for Ya Andy, I really do. Some places back east or at least outside of California have houses made of brick(Brownstones come to mind & their in New York).

Ding! Ding! Ding!

I just had a walk through on the House, He might not buy It @ $20,000.00, But He's going to call the Real Estate office and We'll see what happens as I just called the Real Estate office as I'd changed My mind, Hopefully It won't go below $18,000.00 though. :D Fingers Crossed too.

I changed My mind on the price, Not on Selling, He'd asked If I'd care to go lower and I said didn't really want to, But later I changed My mind as I'd had time to think It over.

That looked more like Iceland than Iceland does. Eek!

Thanks, Once the place is in escrow, Then I can proceed to the mortgage application on the house down in Adelanto and It has had Its price drop to $47,000.00 so hopefully this will do It.

Lots of counts, Just none around here, The only thing that counts to Me is if this place is in escrow and/or sold and I can finance a place in Adelanto.
