This really applies to any BOINC upgrade...
Do I need to uninstall the old version? It seems shameful to loose the WUs I've downloaded...or can I install 4.13 over the top of 4.12 and let it resume with number crunching from the data I've downloaded allready?...if that works.

Thanks in advance,

I suspended boinc, then exited it, then installed 4.13, and away she went no problems, from where it started it was about 1/2 way through a WU.
Cheers

Yes, just exit the boinc client first and then run the windows installer. Works fine.

On an earlier client upgrade, I forgot to kill the client.. it really killed my computer!!! .. Word to the "unlucky" .. stop the client before upgrading!!!

Other than that, I agree with the others.. no need to uninstall the client before upgrading. ;-)

I just exited Boinc to stop it running and downloaded the new version in the same place(folder) and ran the installer thing and it installed over top of old version and all wu's etc were kept.
