Okay... so far, after a bit of an OC... it appears stable. I upped the bclk to 155 from 130, and the DRAM voltage to 1.62V. Running at 3.255GHz! Current crunching it's first few S@H tasks.

EDIT: And the GPU has started crunching... can a GTX260 Core 216 only process 1 task at a time? 'Coz right now... it's running just 1, with many more in queue.

Yep.

GTX260 only has 1 gpu so only does 1 wu at a time.
Should do a standard MB in around 15 to 20 mins or maybe a bit longer.
My GTX275's do them in that sort of range.
Shorties (VHAR) only take around 3 to 4 mins.
Get the ReSchedule prog and you can move the VLAR's to the CPU for crunching,
or let the oppt app kill them if you have installed the app with the kill
function.

Where would I find rescheduler?

Sigh. Now what's happening? I've got about 100 tasks being crunched on my new rig, and yet in S@H, the tasks for this computer only has 4???

Anyone got a link to Rescheduler as well?

The BOINC replica database, which holds and presents the data you request is offline, following a DB Crasch of Mork the BOINC master database.

That's the reason why you can't see all your tasks. It will come online as soon as it is reasonably in sync with mork again.

Sten-Arne

Thanks for clarifying... I suspected something along the lines of this, however, my other 2 rigs task list looked normal at first glance.

Ok, first the reschedular is on this page http://lunatics.kwsn.net/12-gpu-crunching/cpu-gpu-rebranding-perl-script.msg19454.html#msg19454 on the Lunatic's site.

Second, the replica database is offline right now. That is where the tasks page and the pendings page get their data. Your 100+ tasks will show up when it goes back online and catches up.

And I see Sten Arne beat me to the reply again.

Luke, I saw it right - you have the Scythe Ultra Kaze 120x38mm 3,000 RPM?
I had this fan on an old heatsink, but I wasn't happy about.
Much noise - of course and the fan wasn't/isn't 'balanced?' (german: "ausgewuchtet") ran/run noncircular.

The whole top flow heatsink was shaking/dancing.

How is your fan?

Well, today is the last day your RAC will be 3 digits ;-)

Ok, we need a contest while Luke's machine begins to spin up, and assuming he'll get to optimized quickly, tweak OC, keeps it going 24*7, and nothing fries.

*** Guess Luke's S@H avatar RAC for January 31st Midnight GMT. ***

I'll guess 18250 (with a top off of 25250 3 weeks later). And no Bob Barkering by adding 1pt to my guess :-)

[Edit] PS: Don't forget to turn off Aero, it "may" hog your precious GPU mem :-)

Shouldn't that be no Drew Careying now?

LOL @ 52 Aces... my personal goal is 20,000. And if I don't achieve that, I'll add in another CUDA card around my birthday! :)
All 8 cores are running stable at 3.255GHz with the GTX260 running at stock. Now, if I can adjust some more settings, I will be able to take it to perhaps 3.4GHz.
Once I've run through these tasks, I'll raise the bclk to 158 from 155.

@ Sutaru... Hey! Nope, everything is quite fine at the moment with the 3000rpm KAZE. As for the noise, I barely notice it over the music. ;)

1666Mhz - if I get around to it, in a few years I'll upgrade to 1800Mhz or 2000Mhz

My GIGABYTE GTX260-216 SOC is running manufacturer OCed 680/1500/1250 .. ;-)
IIRC, 0.448x AR WU in ~ 550 sec.

Your GPU fan is turning 100 % ?

I should look which GPU is faster.. ;-D

Well, turning off Aero and tweaking a few other Win7 service & settings added several hundred to my RAC ;-)

I've upped the bclk a little more, it's now at 158 from 155. Multiplier still x21.0 gives a clock speed of 3.318GHz... 68MHz increase from last time. Now running at a speed over that of a Core i7 950.

Another reboot, another higher OC, again, I raised the bclk. This time from 158 to 163. Multiplier still the same at 21x. CPU-Z now reporting a speed of 3420.6MHz, which is a rise of 102MHz since last time and a 753MHz rise overall. That equates to a 28.2% OC on the original clock, and a $284 i7 920 achieving 220MHz higher than a $999 i7 975XE!
That was my original goal.

Everything appears stable, 8 logical cores running S@H, temps hovering between 58C-67C with 12 peaks of 68C over the past 10 minutes.
Outside temperature is currently 16c, alot warmer inside though.

EDIT: Temps are now varying between 55c-70c
