I think that this link should go to my i7 Build album.

A big case, Hmm, Good: The HAF 932 does pretty good as It will take a 13" long card, Bad: Dust Magnet as there are no filters, Filters have to be added, I'm adding DEMCifilters as they stick on the outside magnetically and custom sizes can be made, there are some that are already made the 932 of course and their Here.

Heck with the filters I got a compressor, no cat hair can stand up to that. I also use "Ideal" Electronic Switch and Contact cleaner every few months and even with no smoking in the house it doesn't drip pretty. Dries pretty much instantly.

Cat hair isn't the real problem here, It's the dust from the dry lake, from the sand and in the summer from the swamp cooler and the humidity the cooler makes, So It's needed here.

I plan too... I might also make a video of the build (picture show - since my iPhone 3G doesn't support video natively) and upload it to YT if possible... then link it here.

Time for another update again... Well, today I received the 2 DVI cables, the Thermalright fan clips, the Logitech speakers, and the Asus DVD burner.
Oh... and the AS5 compound.

The team at iFocus actually sent me a better, 24x version of the DVD burner instead of 22x I ordered, since the latter was out of stock! Good work iFocus!

So, all that leaves now is the keyboard and the illuminated mousepad! ;)

I've just got back from Christmas holiday with the family and GF... I'll be starting my build today... perhaps in 2-3 hours.

Will do Five Hamlet...

Start - 3:20PM NZDT
Well, I have just started getting this thing ready. I've got a photo of all the components together... but I need to crop excess out of it.

I have cleared the desk, and got what I currently need ready about 10 minutes agp. Since then, I have installed the PSU...

And whilst I was doing that, I discovered the PSU did not fit in with the 80mm top fan installed, by a few millimetres! So I have had to uninstall that.

I'll keep you all updated...

After a slight delay...

Update 1 - 4:50 PM NZDT
I/O shield installed, bottom case fan installed, Brass standoffs installed.

Update 2 - 6:35 PM NZDT
CPU installed in socket, got it the wrong way round first time. AS5 thermal compound installed (I used the line method). TR heatsink installed onto CPU. RAM locked into place (they said firmly but gently - however I didn't know they meant that firmly!)

The case door doesn't fit by a few mils, because the side fan comes into contact with the heatsink. But it is still possible to close the side. So I'll leave it as it is.

F*** it. I'm missing the crucial SATA connector for my hard drive. Build is off for a few days. Sigh.

Meanwhile, can I get help with a cable problem?

I've got some chassis cables... a 'HD Audio' connector linking to a 'AC 97' connector linking to many 1 pin connectors titled:
L-OUT
R-OUT
L-RET
R-RET
Ground
MIC-IN
MIC-POWER

Where do these connectors plug into???

These connect to the Front Panel Audio Connector (10 - 1 pin AAFP), which should be in the bottom left corner,
you eithier connect it up as HD Audio or AC97 depending on what front panel you have, then set it in the Bios to how you're connected it up as.

You should get SATA and IDE cables bundled in with your motherboard.
Most M/Board manufactures give you all the cables and SLI/Crossfire
connectors.

Well, in the day the S@H outage was occuring, I have nearly got 'Tachyon' up and running! Yay! Worked at first boot, however I recieved no output through the screen, before I figured out the output needs to be through DVI instead of VGA (which is what it was originally set to), so I fixed that through the monitor control panel. Then I got to another problem where the monitor just moved into sleep mode before I discovered I hadn't plugged in the power cable for the GPU :P.
Here's a pic of me installing W7...

However, there are still alot of things that I need to do before this thing is going at full speed.

I have to wait for the Logitech G110 keyboard, I have to order mousepads, I have to organize internal and external wires, I have to fix this 'HD Audio' problem, I have to attach the cold cathodes, and order 4 molex 4 pin to 3 pin connectors, and I can't forget that I need to download Ultramon.

However, my main concern right now is that of the side fan touching the Thermalright ultra 120 extreme HS. It causes the case side to bulge and it pulls down the HS so it is not fully touching the CPU. Big problem. My answer is to file the piece of the fan edge down a few millimetres. That should solve it.

So, hopefully, I should be crunching on the 9th or 10th...

And another question... The PSU included 2 'ribbons' of four SATA power connectors on each 'ribbon'. Right now, I have the ODD and the HDD on separate 'ribbons'. Can I just connect both of these to one ribbon (in the process freeing up a whole cable and making the inside aesthetics of the case better)?

Glad you put the outage time to good use and that the rig worked out the box so to speak.
Hope you took pics onthe way or have a video.
Did you find the SATA cable in the m/board box?
You can use more than 1 connector on a psu lead but dont double up on any laed that goes to the motherboard.

We're going to have another power outage on 01/03/2010 again, Must be a lot of old thin cables there.

Well, as I type this, my Core i7 system is up and running at (nearly) full speed!
Here are some images from about 5 minutes ago...

BOINC is downloading now... I'll start by using 2 cores on S@H. That is if I can get work...

Well... I have finally started to crunch SETI@home at stock. Check.
Now, I need to install the opti apps, and, with a little help from the boards and Mark, I will be starting my modest OC tonight!

Good for You Luke!

Today I ordered My 1st Corsair Hydro H50 cpu cooler from amazon.com, Now all I need is about $100 for more DEMCiflex dust filters(they attach to a metal case with a magnetic frame, March 2010 I hope) and I can put together an old Quad(QX6700 B1(ES)) at maybe 3.96-4.00GHz with My GTX295 and the 1050w Enermax Revolution psu in the HAF932 case of mine(Then I'll be able to pivot at Warp speed), Of course I'd have to do a 3 way swap, But that's Ok. My Utilities(Electricity $58.06; Gas $45.84) hopefully I can get the gas cost down in 2010 when I have the 2 exterior doors worked on in a couple of months(New weatherstripping).

Okay... so far, after a bit of an OC... it appears stable. I upped the bclk to 155 from 130, and the DRAM voltage to 1.62V. Running at 3.255GHz! Current crunching it's first few S@H tasks.

EDIT: And the GPU has started crunching... can a GTX260 Core 216 only process 1 task at a time? 'Coz right now... it's running just 1, with many more in queue.
