Hi, after I woke up, wanted to check on E_Mail, I noticed the PC did BOOT and was waiting in the Login Screen.
I saw something had changed, I, now had 2 accounts, in stead of 1 and my personal account had changed.
Photo, name and password

It also wouldn't let me make another account, since I have no 'administrative account'. (Since this)

After forcing to make an account under ADMIN and using an earlier PW, I got in.
Which inmediatly implies, that, somehow, the 'system'has turned back to a previous known working state. Why would/could this account accept a previous used password?
NOT ANY OF THE RECOVERY TOOLS TALKED ABOUT AN INLOGSCREEN AND PASSWORD, LET ALONE, HOW TO FIX THIS!
As soon, as I can get my hands on WIN7, I'll go, if have to, to WIN 95/98/98SE/ME or WIN2000.

Never had so much trouble UPdating an O.S. This is not way out of control, it's a total mess.IMHO :)

It is now 6.5 hours (1MByte/sec) busy downloading, and installing, the same files as it did on oktober 26, okt 23, okt 20, etc.
According to my ISP-Stats, 400GBIT (40GByte), was downloaded in the last 15 days . . .
Maybe I'll swith to some LINUX
flavor, get very tempted
[i];^)[i/]

Hope I'll be able to sort it out quick, otherwise my WU's time-out.
Besides it's very frusrating, not been able to do anything, which will help!

that almost sounds like you've gotten yourself a virus or some form of malware. I'd make a major effort running your AV and antispyware. 40 GB download? were you actually downloading something?

Hi Skildude, VISTA actually was downloading, SP1 and some 'hot-fixes'(???) and SP2 afterwards.
No virus, spyware, malware, trojans, according to AVAST and McAfee, which ran from an USB-stick.
I DID get original account and PW, back, so I CAN login.

Now, I can't open any program, at all. Has to be an "issue" with VISTA's
U.A.C.
Even with "Admin-Rights", no way to open or execute anything???
I take a break, VISTA can take a hike ;)
