put a new battery in the RX7 and hopefully fire it up for the first time in a couple of years (Wankels really don't like sitting idle)

Hi Mark. Good to talk to you after my long hiatus. I'm back crunching again!
I don't know if I mentioned this before but I recall a very funny incident with a friend of mine that owned an RX7.
He came to me for a second opinion about what a supposedly good mechanic told him he needed done. He said this "so-called mechanic" told him that his valves needed adjusted! I about died laughing! I had to tell him that the RX7 did not have any "valves", let alone adjustable ones! Instead it has "ports" which are not adjustable! Hehe! Needless to say he thanked me for saving the about 100 dollars that the "mechanic" was going to charge him for "adjusting the valves"!

LOL....I suppose he was going to put in a new timing belt too, eh?

Nice to see your face in the place again, Jim.

Well.....got some things done.
Mowed the lawn and swapped the new battery into the RX7....
A couple of cranks and she was off and running!
Warmed it up and drove it to the station for a fresh tank of gas. My, oh my, I had almost forgotten how much fun that little beast was to drive! The 4:11 gearset I upgraded to when I had the posi diff rebuilt a few years ago doesn't hurt any.
Doesn't seem much worse for the wear after sitting for 2 years...a little rust on the brake rotors that you can feel through the pedal a little bit, but that should burnish off. The clutch feels just fine.
Meow!!!!

Oh yah.....topped it off with a fresh quart of synthetic mix. Was changed not too long before I parked it, still looks clean and clear. No bubbles or milkiness, so there was no appreciable moisture problem in the motor.
Took it for a long cruise to circulate everything thoroughly.
Ran out just as sweet as ever.

I thought I heard a sonic boom....good news on the car, Mark...

My old truck had 4.11 gears in the back...was very easy to break them loose, even with the limited HP that truck had....

The 13b fuel injected wankel is not a real high horsepower plant either....but it will rev to 8000rpm in no time at all.
So between the sticky tires and the light weight of the car, it's not a tire smoker, just gets up and scoots. It'll do a nice drift if you drop the hammer down whilst going around a corner.
Tweaked the throttle position sensor a little and it's running real nice.

I'll drive it a week or two before putting in away again for another winter.
