I have a Gforce 9800GT Cuda card. I downloded the latest drivers for it two days ago and it was a bust. Using IE8 all items the browser had to download made the browser flash like a strob light. I had to roll everything back to the previous driver. Has anyone else had any issues? |

Not yet, just installed 190.18 today for CUDA 2.3 and it's going nicely. Only issues I had were trying to push my GPUs OC too far :P But I'm on Linux so... |

i've seen on my (9400 gt pci)windows xp 32 bit, a problem with flashplayer and java with driver 190.38.. i rolled back to 186.18 and didn't see it anymore.... sometimes it's a good idea to visit the forums of gpugrid and other projects and nvidia that use gpu to see if there are problems with the drivers... Hi, no probems with the latest drivers 192.38(I believe) for my 9800GTX+ and WIN XP 64. CPU= QX9650 @ 3.5GHz. If you set your preferences in your ACCOUNT, so when [i]activity is sensed it stops processing CUDA, actually better, cause the card is pretty busy with CUDA. Haven't installed the new CUDA 2.3 drivers, yet. They go in BOINC or project DIR? |

I had numerous problems with 6.6.38 & 190.38. Rolled back on all rigs to previous versions & now ok. However, I forgot to roll back wife's machine & it's running ok. When I checked to find out why, I found that I had upgraded to 190.38 BUT did not upgrade boinc - still running 6.6.36. Going to give it till Friday (makes it 7 days since upgrade) & if it is still running ok, will update others. |

19038 has had several computation errors. Also I found if you run the windows experience index while cuda tasks are running they start failing as well. I have noticed the machine is a lot more laggy while trying to use it. I think the new driver might be giving the seti process to much time and my desktop not enough. I will have to reimage the system and try it with the old driver again. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

ZPM! I am so glad that I am not crazy. However I am sad that you are having the same issues. Please let me know if you figure it out. I will do the same for you. |

i've noticed that the screen will pause for like 1 sec and catch back up under this driver too... under gpugrid and seti. |

I have no issues. But I configured BOINC not to use the GPU while programs are running. Only after 0.25 minutes of user inactivity. Currently my GPU usage is 0 as I type this, with temperature 51degC and 59% memory usage. Wait 15 seconds and GPU usage is 96%, temperature climbs to 72degC and memory usage is up to 69%. I run 2 CUDA machines, one is XP Home + GTS250 the other is XP MCE + 2 8600GT's. Both are using 190.38 drivers, V2.3 dll's and V6.6.36 BOINC client running on the GPU 100% of the time and I run dual monitors. Both boxes are OC'd to 3.2 GHz I've had no problems as described, both machines work smoothly. I don't play games but all media players work with no skipping or other problems. Browsers are Firefox and Opera, I only use IE when absolutely neccessary. Maybe the problem is more to do with IE ? The only quirk I've noticed is a recently developed tendency for for BOINC manager to disconnect from the running client and needing a restart to reconnect. I'm not sure whether this is a side effect of the new WU's, the new drivers/dll's or ReSchedule running in the background. @ Fred - The new dll's go in the \projects\setiathome.etc directory. Rename your old ones to .old just in case you want to roll back :-) Brodo |

I have noticed that with the 190.38 driver version (Vista 32) my 9800 GT does not use DVI-D anymore when showing the desktop (1600x1200), it uses DVI-A. Previous driver I used was 182.50 and it did use DVI-D which gives a slightly better picture. I remember having similar issue with some earlier update as well. When I restart the computer monitor states that during post it is actually using DVI-D 1600x1200 but when the graphics kick in the signal changes to DVI-A 1600x1200. The card is from MSI and so was the driver 182.50 now the driver is directly from Nvidia. Could this be the reason? |

After I have installed 190.38 (9600 GT/Vista 32) everything was fine. After one week or so, my Media Center, which I use for watching TV, began to flash between red/green. But I just had to diable the stereoscopic 3D-Function in the Nvidia Systemmanager. |
