First of all I would like to say - these libraries are useful for Raistmer's optimized CUDA-application (For example, I'm using MB_6.08_mod_CUDA_V11_VLARKill_refined.exe) Unoptimized (stock) CUDA-application uses an old versions of this nVidia libraries... @Fred J. Verster: IMHO, these libraries can't work with unoptimized application - so app hangs How do I get the ' old' cudart & cufft.dll's back? Libraries for unoptimized (stock) CUDA-application can be downloaded from http://boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/download_fanout/cudart.dll and http://boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/download_fanout/cufft.dll Old libraries for optimized application must be extracted from the old archive with this opti app. What do I do with them? @SmartWombat: If you are using optimized CUDA-application then just unarchive libraries and copy into SETI@home project folder (For example, in Vista default path is C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu) |

Hi, I was trying to use Raistmer's V11 CUDA app. with BOINC 6.6.20. When that didn't work with the 2.3 CUDA dll's, I upgraded to 6.6.36, so I did get my 'old' dll's back. After the install of BOINC 6.6.36., used the latest unified installer, which works fine. The first CUDA (6.08) MB WU's were processed yesterday and with success. Thanks for your reply anyway. Is the cudart.dll in the program files\boinc folder not used ? Excuse me, but I don't know this exactly (I have an my own opinion - cudart.dll from Program Files folder is used for GPU speed calculation, because text line like "NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 8800 Ultra (driver version 19038, compute capability 1.0, 768MB, est. 69GFLOPS)" posts before the start of any project) I had never change anything in Program Files\BOINC, only in project folder (because only specified at app_info.xml files from project folder copied into corresponding slot and executes by the BOINC Manager)... |

Hi, in the latest V12 (VLARKill)install-Package (exe)(Raistmer,Jason Gee, e.a), I noticed the CUDA drivers are updated to 2.3! Only important thing is to upgrade to the latest nVIDIA drivers, 190.38 (WIN X64/x86) Probably VISTA (&WIN7) too. Not sure where the drivers were in, I D'L'd Toolkit and SDK :( , only 12MByte zipped. V12 ROCK's , so keep on crunching |

Now enjoying just over 2x average from 1700 to 3800 and heading for 4000 with a tweak to allow CUDA processing while using the PC (when not playing video). PAul [IMG][/IMG] |
