With regards to the issue you were having, from those messages that just looks to me as if BOINC is not getting new work because of the WU's for other projects that are in the process of being crunched. Adding any more work to the pile might leave that new work passing deadlines. I have .36 on my XP machines and have never had a problem. In this mode you might not be able to view the screensaver depending on the BOINC version. You see the option when you are going through the install process. I think its either the first or second screen of the installer. That was with BOINC 5.10 and below, where the science application had the graphics application built in. With BOINC 6 and version 6 compliant applications, the science application and graphics application are two separate applications. So the screen saver should work without problems... as long as you told the installer to install the screen saver. All that can be done on the 3rd screen of the installer, after clicking the Advanced button. You'll then see this screen: If the "use screen saver" option was not checked, the screen saver part will not be used. Although the boinc.scr file should still be copied into the Windows directory. So check that first. Else download it from here. Save it in your C:\Windows directory. ID: 921789 ·
