I downloaded the seti@home and the boinic manager keeps on showing that it is still downloading and it has been doing this for 5 hours now what the hell is it doing??? I had seti@home when it first started and it was very easy to use. with all the modernization over the years why am I haveing problems??? dont even know where to start looking.

Look in the Panic Mode thread, for the most up-to-date advice. Either download the task manually, or refresh your DNS cache.

You won't be able to answer in that thread, as you need active credit for that (RAC > 1).

The S@H servers have been glitching a bit over the last few weeks. WU production is down because of the servers and Arecibo is having its own problems with collecting the data.

BTW before you get a surprise. There are 2 very different WU types available. the first is like the old seti@home WU now called seti_enhanced or multibeam(MB). THe second is Astropulse. Astropulse(AP) takes larger chunks of data off the same data tapes as the MB and it takes a great deal longer than the MB.
the credits/hour are generally greater for AP.
