I recognize it is a lot of work to run this project, not counting all the complaints the folks around here do. I too would like to see everything up and running all the time, but realize the running of the project is more important, and it's a learning curve for you and us on this new BOINC thing. Congratulations. Plus 5,026 SETI Classic Units |

I'm 100% behind the BOINC developers - a really fantastic concept and the project resource share is worth it's weight in gold! I'm not 100% behind the SAH folks (is there a difference - you betcha)! They really should have limited the number of users who joined up to allow a structured and staged birth to this wonderful project. We are seeing too many bugs with SAH, ones that we never saw in beta. (Isn't there still a BETA team? If not then there should be.) I hope, to end all hopes, code isn't being changed on the fly and new versions being released without proper testing and I'm not just talking about a limited alpha testing. I hear around the traps that the SAH network admin guy is a bit of a dud, is this contributing? I still have a soft spot for sah...but it is hardening fast. I have detached until I hear that the current bug is fixed. I can't stand loosing legitimate wu's...and you can't say it's for the science as it was all rejected. Happy crunching! Paul (S@H1 8888) And proud of it! |

ditto here. Considering the complexity level, I think it is progressing very well. For anyone who expects no gliches, please bring up your BOINC and click 'help' and then 'about' see that word "beta" in between BOINC and Version?? Well there ya go ;} |

Well there ya go ;} > Mine does not say 'beta' in between Boinc and Version. And it also says Public Release in the middle of that same about box. But I am not complaining, I am happy to help SETI !! 98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8 And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer. |
