LOL, nah, in this case with the havoc creating group I've joined (I seem to attract the cool people no matter where I go in cyberspace :-O), they are pretty resourceful. And funny as hell. So they are to you as the Indian Ocean is to the Pacific Ocean in that regards.

So I'm not resourceful or funny? OMG!

Anyway, the flights have been booked, I'm off to Milan, Italy, the 19'th, a trip I have waited for so long now. But it's happening now. :-D And believe me, I will be done in any possible ways I want. ;-D Besides seeing the famous da Vinci painting as well and Il Duomo. I don't think I'll have time for more sight-seeing than that. And yes, I know about the duability, it's a real Italian I'm going to be with. :-D

And I'm not a REAL Italian! OMG again!

Have fun and take some pics to share with us if you can. :)

Hey, I think you read it the wrong way, I said that they are as the Indian Ocean to you as the Pacific Ocean. Which is much bigger than the Indian Ocean, look it up on Google Earth if you don't believe me. So don't get miffed!

You are a 100% Italian breed but living in the US? He's a 100% Italian breed living in Italy. That makes him more Italian if you ask me. :-P

Hehe, I don't think the pics I will take will be suitable for posting here. :-O

I might take some pics of the sites in Milan I'll go and see, but the others, OMG!!! ;-D

Oh, it was a compliment. Thank you Fuzzy!

Hehe! I was just playfully pushing your buttons. :D I knew what you meant the first time.

And I agree, I'm not really an Italian considering I've never lived there and can barely speak a word of the language. I still have family there though.

You can take a few G-Rated pics can't you? Some artwork perhaps?

Just sitting back on a quiet night thinking...that gets me in trouble sometimes. Thinking about people that have passed on, family, friends.

Coming to this thread I'm frequently reminded of an old friend that crossed paths with us here. A great guy that left this world too soon. A person that touched the hearts of everyone that knew him.

We'll never forget you Rocky.

Yes, Rocky was a person I'll never forget. He would have been so happy for me right now, he had people's happiness at heart, all the time.

Thanks for this post, CR. :-)

Oh, you're such a tease! :-P

I sure will go and see the famous painting by da Vinci, I don't know if they allow people to take pics there or they sell them so I have to buy them. Most probably the latter. And I will go and see Il Duomo, the Dome. I'll take a few pics from the outside on the plaza of it. Again, inside I'm not sure they allow people to take pics.

I have a very small vocabulary in Italian, a base of about 50 words, but as soon as I am in Italy it expands so I can get a long way with the Italians. I can get around there! And of course my friend will teach me some more. :-) Even his English is very good compared to most Italians. So we will speak English with each other, I can't really carry a conversation in Italian, it's mostly phrases. I look so much forward to eat Italian food again, it's so delicious. He's a wine connoisseur so we will have some very good wine as well, I'm sure. :-D

God, I look so much forward to go there again. I have been in Italy three times and I loved the country. And the Italians, and now I'll be with one of them. ;-D

Message 936474 - Posted: 28 Sep 2009, 17:26:33 UTC

Had a lot of things done today, had a new passport ordered and a new big memory card bought for my camera, so now I have enough space for about 4300 pics, that should be enough I think. :-D

And I've bought an adapter to recharge my iPod so I'm not dependent of having my computer to recharge it. Well, that's the thing with the iPods, they want people to boot up their computers to recharge it, which hasn't been a problem since my laptop is up and running most of the time, it's just annoying when I don't have my computer with me and want to use my iPod. So now I don't have to think about that, I can watch a movie in the plane each way without worrying about the iPod running low on power.

I really can't wait, I wish the days will pass fast now. :-)

Any camera flash would damage the Last supper fresco of Leonardo in Santa Maria delle Grazie. Of course they won't allow you to take pictures. An advice: visit the Poldi Pezzoli museum, its is full of art treasures and few people visit it, compared to the Uffizi in Florence. Cheers.

Thanks Tullio for the tip. I will see how much time I have for sight-seeing, it's only 3 full days as I arrive late afternoon on Monday and have to be at the airport at 8 am on Friday for my flight home. And 3 days is not much specially when I will spend time with my friend when he comes home from work. ;-)

When in Rome do like the Romans do. When in Milano eat risotto milanese cotoletta alla milanese, cassoela and drink Barbera.
