Thanks Cebion, it's always time for a good cup of coffee, specially in the Rocky's Coffee Club II thread. :-)

The calendar says it's mid-summer here, but it's cold and very windy, brrrrr..... :-(

Hopefully we will get some better and warmer weather here soon. Time to show off the new summer clothes I've bought. Hopefully!

If it's a new summer bikini, be sure to post pictures... :-D

Coffee served for all on this cold Sunday:

because it's said in the news:

Heh, that fool who's pwning me all the time, he came again last night. I have now a hitman coming after him. Plus I sent some messages to people around asking them to come an pwn him. Got one positive response to it, so let's see if my strategy will work out.

And don't forget, people, . Someone did that and sent me a message, I have no ideas of what it means, I'm not into riddles, drunk riddles that is, I can't be bothered with deciphering that kind of messages. Ugh!

Just when things are going good...

Our new driveway of exactly 31 days now has grass coming up through the asphalt, part of it is actually flexing and another part the asphalt (barely an inch) has rubbed away to show no gravel underneath and nothing but dirt.

Had you sought out my advice I would have told you to go with concrete instead of asphalt.

I believe I second that motion.

Questions: Was this driveway just grass before the surface was laid down? Do you have the BBB on speed dial?

I feel for you. First the airline problem and now this. I don't know what to say, but you have my sympathy.

Thanks for the thoughts...

We can't do concrete--winter beats the hell out of it.

It was a complete tear-out of 2 old driveways on top of each other and install going from 2-3 wide.

Supposed to be 2 1/2" of asphalt..obviously not.

No, be happy for that!

I have got myself another cyber stalker, that punk I had pwned last night stalked me to one of my other games, I now have him blocked in both. There are some really weird people out there! First he thinks that he could farm me over and over, when I retaliate he gets miffed and sends me offensive messages. Heh, too bad I can't go after him myself when I get that good sword, he's way too low level for me. ::shrugs:: If standard is good then double standard is twice as good, he apparently thinks.

Today the summer started here. It was very foggy when I left to go to work but then the sun came and burned the fog away, now it's really warm, nicely warm, warm enough to dress in short sleeved shirts, I'll start to use my new summer clothes. Yay!

And I have got my co-founder into our new town to help out with it, it's really nice to be together again, he's a cool guy and we get along very well, we rule together very nicely. :-)

Had a similar situation a few years back! The contractor wouldn't make it right. Checked with the city code enforcemment and it seems that since they didn't apply for a permit they had to re-do or not be able to work anywhere within the township. Since it didn't meet code then I could take them to small claims court if they refused to re-do. THEY RE-DID!

I've already had 2 other asphalt companies out today for a free evaluation and assessment of the situation (for documentation purposes).

First pulled up, stepped 3 feet onto the driveway and said to me (and it's a direct quote), "You paid for this??? I can feel it move under my feet".

Better Business Bureau has multiple reports but the guy never replies to them.

Once I get the assessments back from the other providers, I'll approach him about it and give him his one opportunity to correct the situation.

Check out their State contractors license also to see if they have complaints. You can make one there as well as the BBB.

My response to Andy Worth from the "Kittyman yay or nay" thread:

Now you can see that, unfortunately, my suspicions were correct.

And you felt the need to come back and gloat and say "told you so". Nice.

I don't feel happy in the least that I was right. I am not here to gloat, but to point out to all you who claim to be his friend that it can make matters worse to be dishonest about a person's flaws, especially when that person is seeking advice about those flaws. Many of you told msattler that he was just fine, thus giving your tacit approval of his behavior. I was being honest with him in hopes that he would "find a way to control the source of [his] problems."

How do you check the State Contractor's License?

BBB was already called (see my quote).

In California, one goes to the state web site and looks them up. I don't know if it is that easy in your state.

California even has a Most Wanted section
