Hi,

I've been suffering with the upload issue where results fail for the last few days.

Anyway, after resetting for the umptenth time, a reset 4 hours ago has just resulting in a result finally being returned. I've since reset another machine that was also suffering and it's due to complete it's first new unit it about 3 hours, so we'll see how that one goes.

Hopefully this might be the first signs of this being fixed - or maybe I just got lucky.

Will keep you informed :)

Ned

I reset the project yesterday at 15 hours UTC because I had a refused WU, and one of the new ones uploaded OK also. Let's hope the others are OK also.

Hello Ned :)

This morning I seem to be doing better as well, I only have one failed upload on one box, the rest on that box have gone through ok, so I will leave it alone.

Happy Crunching.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update - since resetting at the time of posting this thread, all boxes are uploading results fine so far.

Fingers crossed :)

Ned

Still getting errors here - but not 100% failures.
So some work is getting through to somewhere (I think)

I'm still getting refused uploads. I reset SETI a couple days ago and doesn't seem to have done any good. Maybe I should do it again. I would only lose 13 WUs, but if they all get refused anyway....

Yes, try resetting again. Since resetting this morning, all WUs are uploading fine for me.

I'd had all WUs previously refused for 2-3 days.

Yeah, the problem is very sporadic now. A few WU's will process and upload just fine. Then you can hit a stretch where just one, or perhaps even six or seven in a row error out and fail. Resetting doesn't do the trick 100% of the time, it just downloads a new batch of WU's that may or may not work when you finish processing them.

The question is, where is the source of the problem?

Is it intermittent hardware failure that is causing random rejects to result uploads? Is it a big batch of WU's with errors in them that are being distributed and just need to work their way thru the system? Has the problem been fixed so that no more of these bad WU's are being generated or results being refused?

The complete lack of response from the developers and project team on this issue is very irresponsible. It doesn't take much to have someone in authority make a quick post that the situtation has been noted and someone is working on it. Right now, I'm not even sure if there's anyone at Berkley who's aware of this situation!
