I had one PC running XP with all optimized apps. AP on the CPU and MB on the GPU (9400GT) I thought everything was running but when i wanted to answer to this thread i realized that the gpu isn't doing anything. I don't know the BOINC translation for "verdrängt" - something like supplant perhaps. here's a screenshot: regardless what i do it keeps in this state

Ok, i found the solution. Devs renamed the "paused because of Usage" (Don't know how it was named in english) to "verdrängt" which was used by high priority tasks before. Was this done to make it difficult to track down problems or simply to annoy users? What a waste of time - mine to find it out and the devs time to "explement" something that was good already. |

Sounds like something is mess up in the language translation file. These are supplied by volunteers. If you which to contribute you can find a translation link on the Boinc main page under Help wanted! |

This is not a problem with messed up translations. It's a problem with devs messing up messages instead of solving problems. When set to english it shows "waiting to run" like it does when you have high priority tasks. It's simple: give less information. In the end we'll have a window that says: "BOINC is doing something!" but only on the expert-view after confirming a lot of BAC messages (Boinc Access Control) ;) |

i have the solution and BOINC would have told me the problem in most versions but with the recent changes they stopped boinc from telling me what the problem is or better what the situation is. The situation only became a problem because of the recent removal of useful information. |

to what part? i really have the solution, it was set in preferences to suspend gpu when computer in use. older versions of boinc told me that the computer is suspended if boinc still had told me that work was suspended i had known at once why it isn't working but devs decided to not tell it anymore, so i had to find it out the hard way, trying a lot of things that weren't needed if i had the information in first place |
