It never got cold last night, a low of just 5.8C, so could well be a nice warm day again today. Slightly overcast this morning and currently 7.9C The clouds overnight here kept it warm as well. Looks like rain right now, but a little would help wash away the crud left behind by the melting snow. A chilly morning (5C) but looks ripe for another warm Sunny Spring day :) Actually, +5 sounds pretty good to me. It was clear here last night, so we start off today with some frost. Should warm up a bit later, but there is a chance of more snow today (heavy sigh). It's all relative, we'd never survive your temps over here. This has been our coldest Winter for 20 years and it's caused plenty of problems. The night the temps fell here to -12C everything froze up including my heating system, but I see you report those temps all the time. |

How about the temps We see around where I live Andy? It's 73F inside as I post this and thanks to My anti bug(moths and other flying insects) efforts I didn't need to turn the heater on today(I sealed some possible cracks/entrances with expanding foam which expanded out into the air, I'll have trim off the excess later and then later on get the house painted, Later today I'll have to open the windows, But still No bugs and I know where to look too. If you mean the heat, no, that would probably kill us all too :D The highest temperature ever recorded in the UK is 38.1C, 100.5F. When I was in Palm Desert (US) last year I saw 122F (50C) on 2 days and believe me, us Brits aren't cut out for that! Would we cope here in the UK, no. I'd be OK as long as the electricity stayed on as I have whole house AC, but I am probably the only house on the estate that does and one of only a relatively small number in the UK that does. The UK, being a relatively small island surrounded by water, doesn't see extremes in temperature very often, hot or cold. |

Even I wouldn't/won't live in the Low Desert, It's way too hot there, You'd like the Victor Valley area though, It's about 45 miles from here as It's usually 5-15F cooler than way out here as It's near the mountains which provide a refrigerator effect(Freezer effect in the winter though, But not too cold, Like down to as much as 32F/0C).
