http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php You are currently better off with 6.2.19 unless you have the hardware to and want to run CUDA. ![]() ![]() BOINC WIKI |

You are currently better off with 6.2.19 unless you have the hardware to and want to run CUDA. 6.4.6 has a lot of fixes towards a stable screen saver, John. |

All right, last night during the upload something went wrong with the upload of 6.4.6 which may have caused it not to propagate to all download mirrors yet. So the one from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php may be broken. However, the one on the actual download site can be reached and is OK. I just tested it. So if you have a problem with the download, get 6.4.6 from here: BOINC 6.4.6 Windows 32bit BOINC 6.4.6 Windows 64bit It is probably wise to delete your temporary internet files before downloading the new one, just in case. |

I see that the recommended version is now back to 6.4.5. Must have been a lot of problems. |

No, that's because the version on the download page kept being corrupt. The developer will build 6.4.7 and release that later on. |

http://boinc.berkeley.edu News:* February 27, 2009 We have rolled back to 6.4.5 for our latest stable version until 6.4.7 can be built. Something happened to 6.4.6 on our mirrors. BTW. Why work the devs on the V6.4.x ? Why they don't work on the V6.6.x to reach the final stable version? I think the work fetch is 'broken' in < V6.6.2 so the rig don't get the cache which is set in preferences..?! I used V6.4.5 and my rig didn't asked for work for 4 days. I pressed 'update' no request. Then I took V6.5.0, 'update' and I get ~ 20 WUs. Then I took V6.6.5 'update' and since then BOINC want to fill up the cache.** But can't. Because of the past probs 'no jobs available' and now since some days, after nearly every work request the rig get only 1 WU. So he must ask and ask again, for one new WU. *confused* So the serverload is maybe 'house made' at Berkeley? Is there an other prob also? Sometimes the rig get max. 20 WUs, not more for one request. [* posted upper here also, but now with url.. ;-)] EDIT: [** not continuously. Mostly only 2 times if he get 2 times '0' WUs. If he get always 1 new WU, he ask so long until he get 2 times '0' WUs. And then larger pause from ~ 2 to 10 hours. Then start a new 'request period'.] EDIT #2: [for repetition..] But with V6.6.5 BOINC ask always for new work, if I press 'update'. With V6.4.5 and V6.5.0 I pressed 'update' and BOINC didn't asked. EDIT #3: ..to give an example for the '1 WU work requests'.. -------------------------------- time: 1175605412 419906522 1 Mar 2009 3:18:24 UTC 23 Mar 2009 23:10:07 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175604635 419906167 1 Mar 2009 3:16:12 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:36:32 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175603581 419905607 1 Mar 2009 3:13:52 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:58:03 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175602495 419905082 1 Mar 2009 3:11:22 UTC 23 Mar 2009 23:04:17 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175601557 419904691 1 Mar 2009 3:09:07 UTC 23 Mar 2009 23:01:23 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175600720 419904229 1 Mar 2009 3:07:02 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:27:54 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175599612 419903750 1 Mar 2009 3:04:21 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:54:53 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175598617 419903221 1 Mar 2009 3:02:17 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:19:10 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175597636 419902722 1 Mar 2009 3:00:09 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:53:07 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175596509 419902198 1 Mar 2009 2:57:53 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:50:51 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175595612 419901779 1 Mar 2009 2:55:33 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:17:16 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175594793 419901404 1 Mar 2009 2:53:25 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:15:38 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175593989 419901041 1 Mar 2009 2:51:21 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:13:34 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175593069 419900578 1 Mar 2009 2:49:05 UTC 24 Mar 2009 1:09:29 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175592210 419900156 1 Mar 2009 2:46:54 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:39:52 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175591267 419899661 1 Mar 2009 2:44:46 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:37:43 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175590304 419899279 1 Mar 2009 2:42:35 UTC 24 Mar 2009 0:58:13 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175589317 419898765 1 Mar 2009 2:40:12 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:26:30 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175588408 419898344 1 Mar 2009 2:37:54 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:11:53 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- 1175587346 419897825 1 Mar 2009 2:35:29 UTC 23 Mar 2009 22:09:28 UTC In progress --- New --- --- --- EDIT #4: Uhh.. Now I guess, maybe BOINC V6.6.5 have a little BUG? Maybe he ask every time only for 1 sec. of new work?! How it's possible that BOINc show in the messages how much sec. he ask for? In older versions he told it.. Maybe: <rr_simulation> Results of the round-robin simulation used by CPU scheduler and work-fetch. <sched_op_debug> Details of scheduler RPCs; also shows deferral intervals and other low info. <work_fetch_debug> Work fetch policy decisions. Or other entries? The cc_config must look like this? <cc_config> <log_flags> <work_fetch_debug>1</work_fetch_debug> </log_flags> <options> <ncpus>6</ncpus> </options> </cc_config> [incl. simulation of more CPUs [GPUs]] ____________ [If you read my posts, have a look after 1 hour again.
