Common internet scams Oh yes, I know GoDaddy well. It's where http://seti-at-home.com and http://seti-at-home.info are registered. Now if Matt would just get off his duff and transfer those domains before I fwd them to someplace naughty. ;) me@rescam.org |

I simply meant that certain aspects of SAH could possibly handled much more efficiently and cheaply by third party companies. As an example, allow third parties to handle the community aspects of SAH (such as these forums) while Berkeley looks to the strictly science aspects of things. These forums, are just a glorified php forums. Actually, most php forums are much better organized. A couple of mysql dbases, a few Gigs of server side memory and off you go. Simple, elegant, cheap and far more reliable that whatever lurks in the server closet at Berkley. IMHO. Might even help out with the continual bandwidth issues. Not to mention heliping out with the, ahhh, questionable, interpersonal/power issues that seem to continually beset SETI. Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. Especially when they mis-spell "analyze"; must not have spell-check installed. |

I think that spelling is more appropriate for spam. ;) me@rescam.org |
