Havent been able to send in results for the last 12 hours. Had a look at server status page but the names bear no relationship the explanation underneath so I cant see if an upload/download server is running or not.

Anyone know if it is going to get going again soon or is this the post Xmas breakdown? ;-}

It could be just that the servers are bogged down from the backlog of this mornings outage. But, there were upload problems a few days back. I'm not entirely 100% sure which one is to blame. It could even be both.

I believe (but am not certain) the bandwidth problems of a couple of days ago were not solved - so it could very well be both.

The bandwidth is still saturated at the moment as evidenced by this graph.

The green is downloads and the blue is uploads, downloads usually kill uploads when they are running at this level.

I have about 10 trying to upload right now, but I also have 4 AP units on the machine as well. That should take care of 25 hours or so.

My to upload cache cleared right after the outage ended but, since then not able to upload.

Up to 140 to upload.

Well, typically there is something like 8 to 12 hours of over saturation issues after the weekly outage. Add to that what was a persistent upload problem during the two days prior to the outage and you can expect there to be I/O issues for a while.

Well, over 36 hours later and still cant upload, damn it.

Cant download either it seems. Dunno what that all means but if someone working in there is reading this area at all, I hope it means something to you because the server status page names bear no relationship to the information you provide, at the bottom of the same page thus I cannot tell what is an upload/download server. If I knew what was the upload/download server and I could see it wasnt working then I would at least sit here contemplating my navel without this damned disturbance in the force bothering me.

Oh look - blue bellybutton lint! Hey! I dont wear that colour!

Yes gregh yes.
How bout if they just fixed the basic issue of not being seriously involved with the project.
A wee bit of serious intent is called for here, and a wee bit of seriously respecting the dedication of SAH VOLUNTEERS would be appreciated. I've been optimizing my seti@home for over 9 years and this typical disrespect of the SAH users has been the norm.
If there was ever a more compelling DCP, ah just hope F@H.

If they would limit download of WU's to some 90Mbits, all uploads would go fine and downloads would not be limited much more than they are now.

So now with the BOINC clients that do not request work until uploads are clear (like 6.2.19), if someone do not want to get their queue dry, is forced to hit retry button over and over again and creating even more load on line and servers.

Hey Colt

There are a bunch of "issues" regarding the diminution of S@H server responsiveness. Many of these have been scoped over and over and over in these hallowed halls and on the porches of all the S@H sensitive benchmark sites. Look below, and READ the posts, yes all of them. And you will see that the "problem"is a wee bit more involved.

This time it is not about server responsiveness.
If they would be able to limit only d/l server to not use the full line, uploads would get trough and other servers would be even less stressed then they are now.

But all depends on net organisation and priorities. Since eventually everything cleares, I guess they have other better (more important) things to do.

Hey Colt

It's great to see a fellow long travelar out here.
It IS about server responiveness, you are just arguing a very good point and I think one I have also been stating; ergo when will they get serious comensurate with the dedication of the crunchers? Watching the UL/DL tasks, it is clearly observable that an AI is invoked [UL and DL follows project needs and host "standings" and ability]

And as you intimate, they should not have anything else more important to do.

Serious Intent!

I got kind of annoyed last night. I couldn't upload three completed tasks, but I was able to download 51 shorties without a single one timing out or retrying.

Something seems...off.
