But I'm glad, the earth is still turning, strange, we aint gettin dizzy, cause it turns at quite a speed, 40,000Km/24h= 1,666 Km/h . That would be really an emergency stop ;)

And that is nothing to the orbital speed - 67,000 Miles per hour or 108,000Km / hour.

And to top it off, the earth is circling the sun, which itself is circling the center of the galaxy at about 135 miles per second or 8100 miles per hour or 13,035 Km/h.

Actually, the Milkyway is orbiting in the local group, the local group is orbiting in the local cluseter, and the local cluster is orbiting in the local super cluster. I have no idea what the speeds might be in these last orbits.

Morning Mike. A bit milder here today, first morning without frost for weeks - a stark contrast to last winter when we had NO frost at all, all winter!

Hi Mumps. Sorry you never got the amount of snow you were hoping for. We don't get snow in this part of the UK so any amount would grind the county to a halt :D

Any snow here would also be rare. Good morning Mumps. Guess you will just have to work in the white stuff.
