HardOCP has two great video previews of the ASUS and MSI X58 boards. One is over 11 minutes long, and the other is just over five minutes. Check 'em out! Yeah I watched the one on the MSI motherboard already, The Asus one I didn't know about, So thanks. Here's the one on the Asus X58 motherboard, That's on the [H]ardOCP. And the one for the MSI Eclipse(X58) on the [H]ardOCP. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I found a New cooler for LGA1366 and It's from Thermalright and this time a fan may be included in the price It seems. This cpu cooler on an Asus P6T Deluxe motherboard. More info can be found in the link below. http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/showthread.php?t=204724 The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Can't see anything different to what I have been using for months on my LGA775 - guess the fixings might be changed. Brilliant cooler but the fins are closer together than some so need more frequent vac or canned air. Your top pic shows a beauty of the Asus MoBo's: the CPU fan in that position pulls the air over the RAM so "2 birds with one stone". F. |

You can already buy a fan from NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835114080. Not as cool, but it's still a fan I guess. Daniel |

Couldn't the vdimm voltage have been left in the North Bridge chip? Or was that impossible or just not practical? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Also I just noticed this: Overclockers clock Core i7 965 easily to 4.2GHz msattler might be getting some company eventually. ;) The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

There's also a poll over at PC Perspectives as to what people would like them to cover more in their reviews, So far SSD's have the lead with Intel Nehalems in 2nd place, No registering is needed to take part in the poll of course. Solid state drives Intel Nehalem VIA Nano and/or Intel Atom AMD Puma or Centrino 2 NVIDIA and AMD GPUs PhysX The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

... Oh nooooooo... Not the infamously stupid "Turbo mode"... I thought that had been completely and utterly discredited with the "TurboCache" of certain memory crippled graphics cards of the past. Or does Marketing still dream that "Turbo" and naked pouting women somehow increase sales of any-old-anything to all men? What does the "Turbo" term mean anyway? The digital electronics should be working exactly at acceptable margins for maximum performance to begin with. Does "Turbo" mean that it's going to burn out? ... Oh nooooooo... Turbo at one time meant an overclock button I think, But today? No idea, Sounds like PR. At least cases and such don't support It, Yet. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

... Oh nooooooo... That was back in the days of the old 2 MHz(?) 386 PCs. The new 4 MHz 386s ran the computer games at x2 speed which was too fast for most people. The hardware fix was to have a push button that selected either the old 2 MHz CPU clock or the 4 MHz CPU clock... I guess "Turbo" was an apt name for that. Now we have GHz and multiple CPU clock rate steps. Meanwhile, "Turbo" has become a much maligned and misused term of confusion... Any other ideas? ... Oh nooooooo... Nope and It was 8MHz(PC-XT compatibility 8088 cpu) and 12MHz(PC-AT(80286) or faster speeds?) as I recall, Now that's ancient history. :D The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I had a Tandy 4MHz switch to 8MHz was called regular and fast or something likes that if I recall right. On the left of the switch was marked 4MHz and throw the switch to the right and it was marked fast 8MHz. It was a little slide switch. Bye Paul |
