Conservative!

Looking at the authors from the latest threads, I would say Liberals.

Message 814023 - Posted: 2 Oct 2008, 14:50:35 UTC - in response to Message 813976.

from my experience there are more liberals online in general. Liberals enjoy debate and change. I've met very few Conservatives that can debate let alone hold an opinion that wasnt generated from a Neocon talking head. Conservatives that I've talked to have needed to resort to badgering and name calling when MAck truck sized holes are poked into their logic stream. Again, it's very difficult to have an opinion and defend it if you are just parrotting a talking head.

For all intents and purposes poor people are liberals yet in Texas they've been convinced that the people best suited to them(liberals) are against them.

How stupid:

"Conservatives enjoy debate and freedom. I've met very few Liberals that can debate let alone hold an opinion that wasn't generated from a pinko talking head. Liberals that I've talked to have needed to resort to badgering and name calling when Mack truck-sized holes are poked into their logic stream. Again, it's very difficult to have an opinion and defend it if you are just parroting a talking head."

I said it, so it must be true.

First...politics is not a damned football game.
Blindly supporting your "home team" is what got the American electorate into this mess.

Allowing politicians to do as they please because they know they have the unwavering support of their base has let them pander to the population in election years while jumping back into bed with the pampered elites and corporatists for the rest of their term.

This has lead to the corporate lobbyists actually writing the laws being passed in the house.
Your congress and senate have become filled with fat lazy pigs.

Ya Rush, I said so too. RRRRR

You're told by the media that America is a two party system.
You are shown this to be true by the fact that every corporate media outlet excludes third party input (unless it's some crazy dude, then he's allowed some exposure to ensure voters don't look outside the box for alternatives)

We're also in the middle of a federal election here in Canada and under a parliamentary system, the party winning the largest number of ridings forms the government and their leader becomes Prime Minister.

I look for the candidate with the most progressive platform, regardless of party affiliation. There are several political parties to look at with a vast array of ideas and ideologies.

I can't imagine being devoted to a single party and giving up my right to choose freely.

Curiously I dont find myself tied to a party. I consider myself a moderate. Nowadays the Neocons have pushed so far right that a liberal has to look like a centrist to get votes. I can Identify with people and not a party that panders to religion and Business. Neither one of those establishments can vote and neither can represent me.

Yep, you got it. People on both sides of the aisle begged politicians on both sides of the aisle to meddle in the affairs of others.

Allowing politicians to do as they please because they know they have the unwavering support of their base has let them pander to the population in election years while jumping back into bed with the pampered elites and corporatists for the rest of their term.

Yep. This is why there should be far LESS gov't, because politicians on both sides of this aisle do this as a matter of course. Just as they always have, just as they always will, regardless of the number of suckers that fall into the hope trap every four years.

This has lead to the corporate lobbyists actually writing the laws being passed in the house.

Sure. Just as environmentalists have. Or socialists. Or any other special interest groups have. Or how individuals have. This is nothing new. It's called people using gov't force to get their view imposed onto others. You should be thrilled, this is what you always advocate.

Your congress and senate have become filled with fat lazy pigs.

This is nothing new. They're politicians. They are nearly the same worldwide. Using force to skrew those that can afford it the least.

Ya Rush, I said so too. RRRRR

So many of the things you say seem completely fabricated out of whole cloth.

I will vote for a republician congressmen this year. And a democratic president. I want the size of the government to be small (unlike the massive growth over the last 8 years). And I want our constitution restored. I am not sure what I am to anyone else, but to me I am an American. A sleepy one at that.
