There's no need to ask...the levels of denial are quite apparent.

I believe that if you would take the time to read what you are arguing against, you will see that I posted an ACTIVE link to the 1992 coup attempt by Chavez about 7 posts ago.

Until that is "Son of Ike" blows through.

Far more effective than a few nukes and (short-term) a lot more enviromentally friendly!

... So that's why Bush has been promoting Man-made Global Warming!!

Cheers,
Martin

so that is why they use heavy, big war boats, and not sailboats, to keep them
not getting seasickness due to little stormy weather, or monday (but tuesday is as bad)

( they must have holiday season now)

So what? A bunch of obsolete ships from the Russian Navy sailed to see Chavez, The US Navy isn't worried, Chavez has lofty intentions and is a bit paranoid as well, Since the US doesn't see Chavez as a threat(That doesn't mean He's being ignored of course). He'd only be a threat to the islands and to possible navigation of any contested international waters to the north of Venezuela just off the coast(If He felt He could get away with It), Then only to our NATO Treaty allies who have sovereignty over some of the islands there, If Chavez attacked It would be as If He'd attacked Washington DC or New York or anywhere in the US(An act of War would be assumed and then Congress could Declare War on Venezuela).

Chavez is not a military threat.
He's an economic threat in that he is creating a social democracy based on the needs of his citizens and not the wants of the wealthy.

The American government cannot condone a leftist approach to governance which is what has lead to the embargo against Cuba all these years.
The Cubans, and now Venezuela, have attempted to function outside the American economic template and by doing so, they have been labeled communist radicals and crazy dangerous nutbars.

Cuba didn't start off as a communist state, they were driven to the Soviets by the American embargo.
It was simply a matter of survival for a soveriegn nation not wanting to deal with the corruption of past involvements with the U.S.
