Credit not being awarded…

Hey team,

I have created an account and have been successfully crunching the projects for over a month. They finish and upload to Seit as per the messages from Bionic. However my account neither has pending credits or credits. I wanted to print out one the certificates but they say 0 work.

This is probably a simple setting I have not set up. I am running the Mac version on a Power Book Pro OSX Please help

Thanks

The account you're using to post, 'RiverandSea', does not have any computers attached to it. Are you sure you don't have a different account that you're crunching with?

A search produced two accounts with the username RiverandSea

The first one is the one you are posting with.
The second apparently is the one you crunch with.
The email address is the unique identifier for accounts.

Message 806703 - Posted: 10 Sep 2008, 15:41:18 UTC - in response to Message 806052.

Is there a way to fix the BIONC so it reports to my correct account(email). I am not sure how it happened but I would like to fix my Bionic account going for.

Even if I have to start all over I just want to be on the right track.

Thanks for your help team!

Go to your account now and log out.
We're going to find your authentication key to log in with, this can be found in a file in your BOINC directory:
In BOINC 5.10, by default C:\Program Files\BOINC\account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml ...
In BOINC 6.2, by default in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC Data\account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml ...

Open this xml file with Notepad and look for and copy the 32 character key between the <authenticator> tags. Don't change anything to the file, just close it again.

Go to this login option and use the login with authenticator key, paste the key in the box, log in. When logged in, change your password and remember it.

Additional info

Once you are log in with the authentication key check the email address. You will need to know the email address of the account your crunching with is using.

Sweet that sounds like a Plan!

And from a FireFly Fan too that makes it even cooler.

Thanks for your help I'll try that tonight when I get home!

Not on a Mac …

For BOINC ≤ 5.x, the corresponding directory will be /Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/. (That’s the top-level Library, not the one in the user’s directory.)

I don’t know about v6.x, but it’s most likely the same.

Yes, it is. The Macintosh had this type of sand-boxing since 5.10.something.

Hello,
I am having this problem, too.
My old account name was 'Thucydides' to which I an unknown number of credits (it was huge).
Upon moving to Germany, I re-installed SETI with a new name as my old info could not be found.
I have been crunching since 2006 under my new name Ookla, the Almighty
but when I log in, it states my old name with no credits.
can anyone help?
thanks!

Go to Your account and Log Out.
Immediately load that link to Your account again and you'll be asked to log in again, now take the little blue link to "Forgot password?".

You're going to log in with your account key. To find your account key, open the account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file for that project in your BOINC (Data) directory (*). By just clicking on the file, it usually opens up in your web browser. Else use Notepad or another text editor to edit the file.

(*) For BOINC 5.10 and below this file is found in your BOINC directory, by default at C:\Program Files\BOINC
For BOINC 6.1 and above this file is found in your BOINC Data directory, by default at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\ (Windows 2000/XP) or C:\ProgramData\BOINC (Vista).

Look for a 32 character key string in between the <authenticator></authenticator> tags.
Copy this key. Close account_.xml (do NOT save it when you opened it in a text editor! Just close it).

Go to the Project web page that is still open on the Forgot your password link. Paste the 32 character key string into the option "log in with account key" and press the Log in with account key button.

This now allows you to get to your account where you can change your password (click password, type a new password twice and press the Change password button). Do not forget it again. ;-)

Then post back to this thread with that account.
