New Credit Adjustment? - Message 798941 [second part of the post]

Maybe it would be good to have now two separately 'credit counter' for 'SETI@home Enhanced' and 'Astropulse'.

If there are 'credit hunters' out there, they don't want to crunch AP-WUs.

OR, increase the Credits for the AP-WUs.. ;-D
Why are the Credits/hour so much different to the Enhanced-WUs??

I read somewhere that they'd like to do it but it would require some complex scripting

On the other hand.. ;-D

If then there are two separately credit counter.. and the AP-WUs are so much bad in credits/hour.. the credit hunters don't want to crunch AP also..

I think they oughta make'em equivalent. Don't they just have to adjust some multiplier or something? Right now I don't know how they compare to the yields of the other Boinc projects.

To change the multiplier, it may well require some scripting from the Server side, the opti apps would need new app_info.xml files as well.

Never going to happen, Unless money were no object and right now It is. Besides then It would be a separate project and Its not from what I've read.

The basic concept here is that credit should be equal across all projects and across all science applications.

If credits are equal, then two counters are not needed.

So, the question is: where should the project put their efforts? Equalizing credit between Multibeam and Astropulse, or reworking BOINC so that one project can have two totally different credit counts?

While people have commented on the reduced credits for MB, there has been very little said about the increase of ~100cr/AP app, example, in the same time.
It would appear to me credit equalisation between MB and AP is working just as Eric promised it would.
Therefore there is absolutely no need for separate credit counters.

So, we will see soon:

Enhanced-WUs = AP-WUs ?

[Credits/hour]

Or what we will see?

"Soon" is relative.

In the near term, I expect that we'll see the average Multibeam WU, crunched by the stock application equal credit/hour to an AstroPulse WU crunched by the stock AstroPulse WU.

"High paying" and "Low paying" multibeam is a different issue, and I expect that one to get sorted out eventually.

I have just chosen a wingman at random that runs stock applications, on this page it shows an AP unit at 25.5cr/hr and on line above a MB, AR=0.43, unit at 22.75cr/hr. For the same host a few lines above it shows a VHAR unit that gets 44cr/hr and on previous page 17cr/hr for AR=0.83 unit.

For a very very long time this were the ARs for everybody:

Best application for Q6600 - Message 687825

'AR-WUs' every PC will get:

1.) 0.001 - 0.05 -> 18.4%
2.) 0.05 - 0.12 -> 0.80%
3.) 0.12 - 0.225x -> 1.48%
4.) 0.225x - 0.4 -> 21.6%
5.) 0.4 - 0.5 -> 39.9%
6.) 0.5 - 0.75 -> 3.42%
7.) 0.75 - 1.127x -> 3.10%
8.) 1.127x - x.x -> 11.3%

This is now also?

How are now the Credits for the ARs?

Then we can make a small calculation.. :-D

EDIT:
Ooopsss.. I forgot.. ;-D
How is now the share of the AP-WUs? ..#9. ..
