Try the ietab extension for Firefox, you can have it use IE within a tab for certain sites automatically. I think microsoft sites are added by default ;)

Since my original net days of Netscape Navigator/Communicator, I have used IE & (touch wood) have had no problems.

Personally, I just think it's down to personal choice.

Well as Firefox refuses to work on my copy of Vista (yes tried numerous re-dowloads and re-installs) I have decided to give Safari a go.

Opera user here too, I have never got around to using Firefox much, although I have tried it a few times.

I was also using IE8 Beta 1 and have recently installed Beta 2, will give it a few days before I give a verdict.

I just compared IE7 64bit with FF 3.01.
It seems IE is loading a little faster on heavy sites.
I tried pictures of large size in cafe seti.

FF 3 17 seconds
IE7/64 12 seconds.

I always disliked Netscape's bookmarks. With over a thousand links in my favorites, I always found it cumbersome to manage. I long ago discovered SlimBrowser which uses IE engine but provided many of the features now associated with Firefox.

For me it provides the best of both worlds. Search bar (with dozens of site including dictionaries, Wiki, Amazon and EBay), custom Group open, customizable tabs (alias allows me to have a dozen tabs in one line), custom tool bar layout, alias=URL, custom auto logon, integration with Roboform, one click web page translation, spell check, filters and site/popup blocker, what else do you need.
