I am having the exact same problem (also same as this thread: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=48931 ) I have done a project reset which resulted in no change. Also tried a fresh install of boinc... It looks like part of the file is missing, "less then 5KB", that would no doubt cause a problem. Which firewall are you using? I've seen this problem with firewalls or local proxies that refuse cross domain HTTP redirects. That 4451 bytes is probably an error message from the firewall or proxy. Once we're sure that executable downloads won't clog our servers (probably Monday or so) we'll remove the coral cache redirects for the executables and all should go back to normal. I cannot get BOINC to download the two files : setigraphics_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe and setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe However all other files related to the change to v. 6.03 (readme, copyright, authors, .jpg, etc.) came through just fine. (See partial log below.) Tried a project reset. Then I tried updating to the latest BOINC 6.2.18. I get work units, but they don't run and fail. So tried to go directly to http://boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/download_fanout/ to manually download the two files. I can put ANY file I try from there, except the 6.03 files (no matter the platform.) Tried to bypass my firewalls (both the virus scanner and my router) but it still doesn't work. Here is a partial log from BOINC after I tried to reset again. Thanks in advance for your help. I cannot get BOINC to download the two files : Well, I didn't get either of these two files for a day or two, then suddenly at 14:23 (CDT) on 8/23/08 both came through in a matter of a few seconds and computation resumed. The odd thing is, when the files could not be downloaded, my computer still downloaded several (about 20) work units then bombed out trying to run them. Seems that if the 6.03 client wouldn't download, the associated work units wouldn't be downloaded either. Oh well, just will take a while to clear a bunch of "failed" work units out of my results queue.

Not trying to dig up an old thread but I figured I would provide some closure to this one. All my issues went away once the redirects seemed to have been removed. This therefore could be an issue that continues for every new version of seti, the good part is it resolves itself once the initial surge of downloads slows. ID: 804859 · |
