When my computer goes idle a screen comes on that said to lanch boinc. How do I get the computer to do this on auto??? You have to have BOINC Manager auto-launch on startup of your system. This was an option during install. The novice way of fixing this is to uninstall and reinstall BOINC, making sure you select the aforementioned option. Otherwise, you need to add an item to your startup group and point it to your BOINC folder and use BOINCMGR.EXE /S as the executable name. |

By "a screen comes up" I think he means his screen saver, Charlie. Meaning BOINC should already have started, or at least BOINC Manager did. @Carl, make sure there is a minute difference between the time you want BOINC to start crunching when the computer is idle and the time for the screen saver to come up. Example given, 3 minutes to wait for complete idle and 4 minutes for the screen saver. |

However, if it were simply because of a time difference between when BOINC starts and the screen saver kicks in, it usually says "BOINC is suspended". From my experience, when it says "BOINC is not running, please launch BOINC", that usually means BOINC Manager is not running. Unless they've changed things on me again. |

I get ya. Stupid thing that they took out the auto-launch of BOINC when the screen saver starts. I forgot about that, so you're probably right. |
