Is anybody getting any communications through to Berkeley? Upload, Downloard, Reporting? ANYTHING?? It would seem that attempting to run AP and Seti Enhanced as one project has totaly screwed up everything! Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Right now I have a quad cpu that is crunching one AP on one core. The other 3 cores are not working. All Seti enhanced work has been crunched and is trying to upload the work. All uploads are failing. Completely out of work except for the 1 AP work unit. Manually mashing the update button results in NO WORK REQUESTED in the log but this same cpu is supposed to have a 4 day cache. No other projects on this computer....only Seti Yea...........works really nice with AP!! Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

@ Geek@Play How big is the cache of your rig/s? You are member since '01?? I have a cache of 10 days on the 24/7 machine and he runs never dry.. ;-D ![]() |

This is to guard against instances there it takes longer to upload results than it takes to run them. That just confirmed here. Some uploads slowly trickled up, then when it was down to ~3 uploads, big blocks of download started all by themself. It was a nice surprise. [Incidentally I haven't tried to run Astropulse yet by making the app_info mods & downlaoding the files. I don't seem to get ghost AstroPulse WUs, though I suppose I could have missed some. ] "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. Ok.....thanks for the info..... Guess I'll have to lay onto the retry button and see if I can get some of this work to finally be uploaded and reported. edit....must have missed this in the users manual! Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

The downloads appear to be coming through just fine. I've got a full compliment again. The uploads are still a problem, but they appear to be clearing slowly. I'm down to 10 that are still stuck. ![]() Join the PACK! |

This is to guard against instances there it takes longer to upload results than it takes to run them. So with a C2D if I have more than 4 Seti units trying to upload and get stuck I can't get any new work. Great. I have 19 units trying to upload. I have been like this for day and I'm crunching on my last two units. Going to have to go Rosetta or MilkyWay for a little while I guess... Never surrender and never give up. I tried modifying an AP/MB app info file and wound up having to reinstall as I'd only modified the file partly and I'd missed the x64 part of the file name for the MB seti app for XP. But all is well now and PC1 has a few days worth of Seti files once again, Me I'll wait since I use optimized seti apps. Joker...did you download the files needed for AP separately and put them into the projects folder? Clk2HlpSetiCty:::PayIt4ward ![]() |

After a new BOINC install on a LINUX host(QX9650 @ 3200MHz.), also got 1 AP UNIT for now, have to check to other host's too. But did change nothing and still received a AP WU. Don't ask me how it's possible, but it works too. So I'm pleased with them. It is all still about science, isn't it :) Keep On Crunching and BOINC'in ,) ![]() |

If you're not running an Optimised App on that rig, then the AP application will be downloaded automatically to deal with the AP WU. It's only if you have an app_info.xml file to specify the anonymous platform that the AP .exe file won't be downloaded automatically. F. ![]() |

The host with the ap WU, runs LINUX and no opti app. I noticed, the download off AstroPulse program files, went fully automatic.Did not change a thing, I think it 'does that' only on not optimized host's. That's what I see happening. My other QUAD's running WINDOWS XP & VISTA, also opti app's, did NOT receive them. Could be coîncidense, but I'm NOT so sure, anymore now. And I didn't ask for them either ;) But it's scientific 'work'as well, so I'll crunch them. @Fred, That's the way it is supposed to work. All those "set and forget" crunchers running stock app expect the system to automatically download the latest version of the app whenever it needs to. This time, the automatic download includes the AP files if their machines are up to spec for crunching of AP WU's. If the only hosts that ever received AP WU's were those that specifically ask for them, there would be a very limited pool of crunchers when you think of how few of the total population of crunchers ever visit these boards and, therefore, are aware of the introduction of AP. Just received my first AP4.35 fron seti main by set and forget methord does work. Some of us still use this method sucessfully.Stock whats wrong with that. You still get the same bottem credit what ever you run. Its to hit and miss the other way how many different ways to get them so far have failed. One of my wing persons has at the moment over 20 AP4.35 along with two hundred plus 5.27 on a 3GHz Duo.So there is to be no restriction on how many you get at the moment. Mine are running along side AP4.35 from Beta on both my hosts. Michael |

Such users contribute far more cycles that all of those with Optimised Apps. I was just trying to highlight to FJV that automatic download of the AP app is to be expected when the host is not running an Optimised App. Happy crunching F. ![]() |
