Same thing is happening on Einstein (ending of S5R3, starting of S5R4) for those running power/beta apps with app_info.xml there. On one pc I deleted Einstein app_info.xml and Einstein sent the new S5R4 app and resent the "lost" new S5R4 WU, but the resend feature is disabled here... |

Was experimenting with LINUX's UBUNTU 8.04 and did also receive AP WU's! One hour after I installed BOINC 5.10.45, (why 'it'choose that version???) I received the AP units. NO opti app. running now. Will look on my VISTA and XP hosts. I'll follow the conversation on how to disable the AP, if they are 'empty'or ghost's. di 05 aug 2008 13:17:40 CEST||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site di 05 aug 2008 13:17:40 CEST|SETI@home|Temporarily failed download of 17jn08ac.6850.11524.4.8.188: http error di 05 aug 2008 13:17:40 CEST|SETI@home|Backing off 1 min 0 sec on download of 17jn08ac.6850.11524.4.8.188 di 05 aug 2008 13:17:40 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of astropulse_4.35_i686-pc-linux-gnu di 05 aug 2008 13:17:41 CEST||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. di 05 aug 2008 13:17:50 CEST|SETI@home|Finished download of 17jn08ab.6673.13156.7.8.202 di 05 aug 2008 13:17:50 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of ap_graphics_4.35_i686-pc-linux-gnu di 05 aug 2008 13:18:10 CEST|SETI@home|Started upload of 03jn08aa.9449.587906.15.8.232_0_0 di 05 aug 2008 13:18:34 CEST|SETI@home|Finished download of ap_graphics_4.35_i686-pc-linux-gnu di 05 aug 2008 13:18:34 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of astropulse_4.35_AUTHORS di 05 aug 2008 13:18:50 CEST|SETI@home|Finished download of astropulse_4.35_AUTHORS di 05 aug 2008 13:18:50 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of astropulse_4.35_COPYRIGHT di 05 aug 2008 13:19:03 CEST|SETI@home|Temporarily failed download of astropulse_4.35_COPYRIGHT: http error di 05 aug 2008 13:19:03 CEST|SETI@home|Backing off 1 min 0 sec on download of astropulse_4.35_COPYRIGHT di 05 aug 2008 13:19:03 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of astropulse_4.35_COPYING di 05 aug 2008 13:19:53 CEST|SETI@home|Finished download of astropulse_4.35_COPYING di 05 aug 2008 13:19:53 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of 18jn08aa.4803.21749.3.8.58 di 05 aug 2008 13:20:07 CEST|SETI@home|Finished download of astropulse_4.35_i686-pc-linux-gnu di 05 aug 2008 13:20:07 CEST|SETI@home|Started download of astropulse_4.35_COPYRIGHT di 05 aug 2008 13:20:10 CEST||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site di 05 aug 2008 13:20:10 CEST|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 03jn08aa.9449.587906.15.8.232_0_0: http error di 05 aug 2008 13:20:10 CEST|SETI@home|Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of 03jn08aa.9449.587906.15.8.232_0_0 di 05 aug 2008 13:20:11 CEST||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. di 05 aug 2008 13:20:13 CEST|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Saw a new message on the Frozen Penny, during a work request and subsequent download of new work, that I had not seen before..... Saw a new message on the Frozen Penny, during a work request and subsequent download of new work, that I had not seen before..... Oh drat!! I had not noticed the message before, and was hoping Eric had plugged some new code into the scheduler during today's outage..... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I got two of them but I don´t want to run AP (by the moment). Sorry to wingmen. Best regards. Logan. BOINC FAQ Service (Ahora, también disponible en Español/Now available in Spanish) |

Darn, no time to make the adjustments to my machines 'til the weekend, but I suppose this may be fixed by then. Guess I'd better find more time to start looking more seriously at the AP code too :S "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. ... Thanks.. it would be nice..! :-D If the ratio 'Enhanced-WU = optimization = Credit = AP-WU' will be the same I want to crunch AP also.. I guess other members think the same? BTW. Hope the server will be fixed soon, because of the AP-ghost-WUs.. EDIT: BTW.#2 The AP-WUs have different crunchingtimes like the Enhanced-WUs (AR)? |

BTW.#2 The AP-WUs have different crunchingtimes like the Enhanced-WUs (AR)? By my very limited understanding (so far) no, they all have the same processing, but I only half-heard/read that somewhere and it may have been referring to something else... BTW.#2 The AP-WUs have different crunchingtimes like the Enhanced-WUs (AR)? From what we've seen in Beta, the runtimes are very consistent - no AR to vary, and hence no AR variation. |

From what we've seen in Beta, the runtimes are very consistent - no AR to vary, and hence no AR variation. That should simplify optimisation strategy somewhat, cheers. BTW.#2 The AP-WUs have different crunchingtimes like the Enhanced-WUs (AR)? That's gonna take some of the excitement out of it....LOL. When an optimised app for AP...? I think soon as later...:) Logan. BOINC FAQ Service (Ahora, también disponible en Español/Now available in Spanish) |

When an optimised app for AP...? I think soon as later...:) Jason has already posted that it is going to be some time....don't hold your breath on this one yet. Before any time is spent on optimizing, they want to be sure that the stock app is stable and no more code changes are going to be made before spending the hours and hours of time and testing required to do any possible optimizing. It WILL be looked into, but it will not happed short term. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
