The new age has dawned, and with it the kittens.
Sorry if not all you of all are so seriously smitten

But the kitties are calling, so answer I shall.
For nobody else seems to hear their soft call......

Another kitty poem for you.........

Don't get caught where the kitties doth go.......
They frequent places that you and I wouldn't go
It's not because it's their favorite place, so ya know,
It's just that they have nowhere else for to go.

The kitties are so scattered. they are here, they are there...
And soon lil' kitties shall be everywhere.
If only you and I could put an end to this mess
And trade all the kitties for some true happiness....

No more homeless kitties there ever would be..
No tears from my eyes no matter how far they see.
No cages, no shelters, for none would be needed
If only my love of the kitties be heeded.

Give your love to a kitty if only you can.
I would love them all truly, but I am only one man.
So I ask of my brothers, men of my birth
That you love all the kitties....prove what you are worth.

Today was a wild day for the Feral Rescue Spay/Neuter group.

I again played Transport and the group built a wooden frame to put the cages in to prevent any spraying or fur from spreading around my van. Was a nice surprise.

Wife was on the Catch Team and even with long sleeve shirt and shoulder length leather gloves she got a nasty gash along the front of her shoulder. Had to be cleaned and bandaged at the hospital for safety concerns.

I drove 8 rescues to the home base before moving along to the 24-hour vet facility (same that did our pup's Luxating Patella's surgery--great group!).

We're done for a few weeks as we enter family picnic/event month but it was fun

Bless you Pete.
Whatever our differences are or have been......I respect and praise your contribution to the kitties. Much respect for you in that regard. Please believe me on that. I hope Suz heals quickly...give her my regards as well. Them feral kitties can be a handful for sure........

Best Regards,
Mark

My mind's very tired and I must get some rest...
But it seems that my mind always comes back to the kitties.....

I fret and I worry 'bout whether what I've done is right,
but the love of my kitties lets me sleep well at night.
I make my mistakes, and I have stepped one some toes
But I pray that there is some forgiveness from those.

I share what I can, comes straight down from my soul,
And open a place in my heart that you really should not go.

But I do this because I have no others to share it.
And I hope that at least one other may come to help bear it.

The kitties are not, as some say, just a ruse.
They are the light of my life, my companions, my muse.

I don't hide behind kittens, I hold them so dear.....
And my love mirrors theirs, as I've tried to make clear.

My ramblings about cats I'm sure have no bearing on some,
But to the few who would listen, I'm glad you have come.

To share just a moment with the kitties and I
And pray that their lives may be saved by and by.
For as they go, we shall too, don't you see that my friends?
Their fate's tied to ours......without them, ours ends.

I go now to bed with my beloved lil' kitties,
Will dream peaceful thoughts 'bout the way that they love me.
And hope that the day coming after the dawn
gives me more kitty love so I may carry on.

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Hope that works for you, my friends.........

Plumbing service rescues kitty from drainage pipe
BRECKSVILLE, Ohio - It was Roto-Rooter to the rescue for an unlucky black kitten that got stuck in an outdoor drainage pipe near Cleveland.

...The kitten was examined by a vet and then taken home by Larry Ozanick (oh-ZAN'-ick), one of the rescuers.

He says he plans to name the kitten "Roto."

. . . Mark - in a couple of days - i shall give a bit to the shelter (call mi)

A woman brings her parrot to the vet. The parrot is stiff and lifeless.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but this parrot is dead"

"How can you tell so quickly?" replies the woman, "Isn't there a way to be absolutely certain?"

So, the vet whistles and a beautiful black Labrador Retriever walks in the examining room.
The Lab sniffs around the parrot for a few moments, then looks at the vet and, with sad
eyes and shakes his head.

"A dog shakes its head and I'm supposed to believe that?!" cries the woman. "You're going
to have to do more to prove that my poor parrot is dead!"

So the vet leaves momentarily, comes back with a cat and puts it on the table beside the
parrot. The cat looks closely at the parrot, walks around it, prods it a bit, then shakes his
head and jumps off the table.

Finally, the woman seems convinced. As she turns for the door, the vet announces that
she owes him $500.

"$500?!," the woman asks.

"How in the world could it be that much just to tell me my parrot is dead?"

"Well, it would have been a lot cheaper,

but with that lab report and cat scan ..."

. . . science of cats national geographic

Science of Cats National Geographic

On June 4 a black bear wandered into a West Milford, New Jersey, back yard, was confronted by a 15-pound (7-kilogram) tabby cat . . .

and fled up a neighbor's tree. Hissing at the base of the tree, Jack the clawless cat kept the bear at bay for about 15 minutes,

then ran him up another tree after an attempted escape.

Finally, Jack's owner, Donna Dickey, called the cat inside, and the timorous trespasser disappeared back into the woods.

"He doesn't want anybody in his yard," Dickey said of Jack in an interview with the Newark Star Ledger.

She's a BIG girl

Wow! As opposed to our old kitty who weighs 7 pounds soaking wet. Mittens has always been kind of scrawny. But lately she just doesn't want to eat. She'll have to be pretty sick for my son to put her down. About all that does it for Mittens is to roll her up a good hit of catnip.

Suddenly she's a kitten again. She's about 17 years old.

Not wanting to eat at that age is a warning sign that something could be wrong. Get her checked out at the vet.

We did & she's got something with her kidneys that are failing. All we can do is tempt her with some real goodies. Her hearing is failing but she can sure hear a can of tuna fish opening.

The kitties and I are fine folks.....thanks for all the kind inquiries. With my daily driver down and a temporary monitor I can hardly read it's hard to quickly do some things.....
Been very busy with work as well....
Have a new monitor on the way....a 28" Viewsonic that should be a lot easier on my eyes....as well as a couple of new hard drives to try to get my daily driver back on track, but if I can't retrieve the setup on the old drive, it's gonna take a long time to recover everything.....
Dune, we'll say a couple of kitty prayers for your Mittens kitty.....I have been there before.
And thanks for keeping tabs on the kitty thread, Dr. CETI!!!!
