Hello Dear Friends,

I'm glad to be here, taking a break from The Perfect Storm. In brief, I can'
t sell the condo I own. I can't even give away valuable things in it to friends, relatives or even charity. People love the idea but won't come and pick up their presents. At the Salvation Army, the head of the Citadels keep shifting faster than the speed of telephone or email. My favorite moving company just got top prize in a major magazine and now they won't return my calls...and so forth and so on.

My Dear Dad used to love to quote the old Roman maxims, one of which is "Res Habent Sua Fata", which means "Things have a fate of their own". Tell me about it! None of my things care about what I care about. LOL

So that's why I'm calling the experience of not-selling my condo "The Perfect Storm"; whatever can go wrong IS going wrong.

But enough about me.

Harvard university releases their Ig_Nobel Prizes every year around this time to honour the weirdest work in science. They've just released their 2008 awards and you can find them on the bottom of this Wiki page.

For the first time in years, I'm not having home cooked Turkey Dinner, but I'm going to the Delta hotel in town where they promise me a great meal of Maple, Parsnifp, Lobster Tail Veloute, followed by traditional Roast Turkey with Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, gravy, Cranberry Preserve and Asparagus; finished off with Pumkin Cheesecake.

At $30 a hit, it had better be good. LOL
