Hello Dear Friends!!! :]] Man! Did I ever have a scary three days!!! I signed up for this online video store to rent movie downloads, only it wasn't a video store. It was some very capable criminals who used their sites to "Phish" me! They got my PayPal info, my name, address and postal code, and they nearly got my credit card number too, except I figured out something was wrong at the last second. With all the information they have, they can maybe get my credit card too! So, today I'm going to change my credit card. Not only did the "Phish" me for this info, they also planted an NASTY trojan keylogger that Kaspersky calls "Win32.Monderc.gen" and I've got online banking too! EEK! But I've been doing more than just getting mad. I got Paypal's deduction from my bank account blocked. (YAY!). I had all my accounts frozen with this neat trick I learned. You can ask your bank to put a "Deposit Only" Order on one or more of your bank accounts, ie you can freeze your own bank accounts. Did you know that? :]] I've also given an in-depth account of this clever fraud system to PayPal, complete with links on each of the pages including the redirects and have screenshots available for them too. (I haven't heard back from PayPal yet, though). I think I will hear from them once they learn that their transaction got block by my bank. When I've got more time, I'll tell you the details on how pro crooks like these cleverly scam BOTH your credit card AND PayPal information, if anyone's interested, that is. All I can tell you for now is, that tools like Photoshop now means that crooks can duplicate EXACTLY what legitimate company html pages look like. I've had two attacks from MonderC, so the source is not yet completely gone. I'll get back to posting when I've got this all settled. It's uncomfortable to even post with a keylogger possibly in the background. I haven't forgotten you, Dear Friends! :]] GOD BLESS!!! Beets P.S. If anyone has good info on how to rid yourself of Windows32.MonderC.gen (there's also Monder and Monderb), please let me know. Hei Beets ;-D It sounds like you have had some hot days.. ;-) It is, and feels horrible when anyone try to fool us, or taking advantage of what we think is totally ok or safe ways to get things done. I do hope you find out of it.. It is a security risk in all these technical stuff we are surrounded by.. Its almost as i want to just deny to pay my bills. Ohh!
