i use mobile internet conection UMTS (vodafone) You have download errors of one of the files that Seti needs. <core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> app_version download error: couldn't get input files: <file_xfer_error> <file_name>seti_527.jpg</file_name> <error_code>-200</error_code> </file_xfer_error> </message> ]]> So go to your computing preferences (under Your Account). Edit them. Change Skip image file verification? from No to Yes. Save preferences on the site. Open BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Projects tab->Select Seti->Click Update. That should do it. Do know that it will take 24 hours before you can download work again. The message you had is a security built in that you can not endlessly trash tasks. You have a daily quota of 100 tasks per CPU here. With each error, this quota gets deducted by one. With each task you run and return correctly, the quota gets doubled. (2, 4, 8, 16, 32 etc.) |

Addendum to what Jord wrote: 14/07/2008 14:27:00||Reading preferences override file You should also check your local preferences accordingly (Advanced view -> menu "Advanced" -> "Preferences..."), or click "Clear" on that page there to return to your Web based prefs. HTH Andy |

14/07/2008 14:27:00||Reading preferences override file I overlooked that one, thanks Andy. If you want to keep using the local preferences, then it's: Open BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Preferences. Network usage tab. Put the check in before Skip image file verification. Click OK. |

the thing is that 2 days ago...that qouta was 4. This is something that is stored in the database for the ID number for your computer. It won't magically change when you reinstall BOINC. Unless you manage to get a new hostID number, but that's very difficult these days. You'd have to install a completely different OS or CPU to get that done (e.g. switch from Windows to Linux or from Intel to AMD). It will go up once you manage to get new work and return it correctly in just the manner I spoke of in my other post in the thread. |
