Putrid, comes from `stupid puter` runs win 98se and can be a pain it the neck, crash test dummy but im`e not going to give up on it.
Dingbat , it just popped into my head when trying to think of a name.
Piglet , its a black case with a big alloy start button on the front, looks like a pigs nose.
Scotty , given to me by a freind who is from scotland.
Tincan , bought a case as cheap as possible, the metal is so thin........
Morph , alloy lianli pc60 case I just keep changing things in it, so the name of our plastacine pal seemed appropriate.

and with 5 cases recently arrived from ebay, most with p2 p3 boards in them looks like il`e have to get my thinking cap on

Mine are all appropriately named for what they are, slave computers. They do nothing but crunch, 24/7, so they are named setislave, setislave2, up to setislave9. The secondary crunchers are the laptop (Laptop), my work PC (GBGW), and my Mac (hicktown.local). The only ones not being used are slave2 and slave5, as they are awaiting brain transplants (to quads after the summer, making 9 PCs, 36 cores total).
LOL............Setislave................so be the kitties...................sounds like a punk band.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Indigo. The others are also colours of the rainbow. This is too exciting may go back to engineers and call it Brunel.

My main computer is my fastest computer, most all my computers actually have a purpose other than seti. My toy computer is named after me hiamps and I can overclock it and generally kill it without having anything lost. Of course it would once again get rebuilt into the latest and greatest but that Opty just keeps going and going.

The content of your post:
My computers seem to be named, "D*****" and "You piece of c***!" and other assorted things not fit to print here.

Strangely, these monikers seem to be shared by whatever computer I happen to be in front of. I'm assuming these names come issued from the factory upon production.

My comps are called Saturn and Jupiter. If I get a third it will be called Uranus and the fourth will be Neptune. Pretty easy to work out why...

Mine all have very functional names. dev2k is my current development machine, and it replaced devnt. (I know, Windows 2000 is a little bit "antiquated" but it runs VMware just fine)

At one point, I had a pair of servers named "Soulianis" and "Rahm" -- the origin of which is left to the reader.

Mine is called sempron. Simply because thats the first word I saw on my computer when thinking of a name. My friend has some pretty cool names for his computers. One of is called Chibbi, another Naomi, and his third one is called Mia.
