Just a word of advice to anyone crunching the "old" way.....I finally decided to take a look at the optimized apps (look at the sticky on top of this category....optimized apps read only something something).

My crunching times are WAY lower now. I'm actually pretty upset I hadn't done this a long time ago....I'd say I'm crunching at 200% speed of what I was before.

Take a look. It was real easy for me and now both me and SETI@home are reaping the benefits.

Yup.......pretty amazing, eh?
Anybody else that would like help in getting on the optimized apps for their rigs, just post here if you need a hand, and I or some of the other wizards around these parts would be happy to help you.....
It truly is the most surprising thing....especially if you are running the stock app right now.........

Hi,

Where can I find these optimized apps and are they also available for Linux, in particular for Ubuntu 8.04 64 bits?

Thanks, Jan.

Keep checking the opti app sticky towards the top of this forum......
Last I recall, Crunch3r was playing with a Linux port, but I have not seen any updates lately......
Perhaps he or some of the Linux camp can advise further.......
