Before i was a fan of uma turman after watching her performance in 'kill bill', but when i discovered jodie foster , i thought that she is really the best , not only as an actress but mostly because of her firm personality and her highest intelligence. Her performance in 'flight plan' reveals her genius . |

. . . Welcome back Ariane - been awhile eh - and that last Donation was quite the Gift to Berkeley Dear Dr.C.E.T.I, thank you for this magnificent picture of jodie, i will print it in the first occasion. Here i want also making an homage to all the brilliant actors who, since the invention of the cinema, left their impact on our mind, maybe during the whole of our lifetime, and some of them live in our heart for ever .The day i heared the death of Charlton Heston, i mourned all day and i watched again Ben Hur and The Ten Commendments, i was so deeply sad that it was like i had lost a beloved uncle. These actors are to me like the gods and the goddesses of ancient Olympe and we expect that they remain immortal , that is why sometimes their death becomes so incredible. |

Indeed , 'Contact' was simply a great movie not only because of the performance of Jodie, but mostly because of the Idea which was behind that scenario .It was astonishingly impressive and i'm still under its impact. |

Jodie is a great looker of the classic "American Girl Nest Door" prototype. I'm not sure I agree with you guys that she's a great actress. I'll give her big Kudos though, for the job she did in the movie "The Accused" as the victim of rape who goes to trial against her attackers, knowing how much it is going to cost her. In that movie, she was excellent! :]] |

. . . an Actress friend of mine - Christina Kokubo works in Film - one Brilliant Portrayal was The Yakuza . . ., which Starred Robert Mitchum they were Best of Friends and i remember @ that time - when he Passed on - 'How' she felt - since we were quite close and i had always had a very strict attention spent on Robert's Career - especially regarding Film note: out of Respect - for My Friend's Wishes - i shall not be Posting any Photographs of Christina, though i very much would like to - mainly because i have an Excellent Art Portfolio of works . . . . . . 'certain' actors though (NOT mentionin' names) were quite 'openly' Prejudiced towards Persons from certain countries (especially Christina - who was Japanese / Korean) - and even showed said prejudice in the films . . . not caring IF anybody noticed or not . . . a shame - to say the least . . . sigh . . . . . . and back in Context with this Thread - Robert Mitchum was / is one the Finest Actors in his own time also > as an added note: Jodie is Most Likely one of the Finest Artists of Our Time . . . Hey Richard!!! :]]] . . . a synoptic re: Christina (Tanner's Daughter in the Film) Harry Kilmer (along with friend George Tanner) were in Japan after the war in the Pacific ended. During this time Kilmer met and fell in love with a beautiful Japanese woman named Eiko Tanaka. But for some reason Kilmer cannot fathom and which Eiko will not tell him, she will not marry him. Finally he leaves Japan and returns home to the USA where he does some police and detective work to earn a living. Tanner continues a business relationship with some very shady underworld figures in Japan (the Yakuza) and in particular with the local boss Tono. In fact he is selling guns to this mafia like organization, but on one transaction he fails to deliver. As a consequence the Yakuza kidnap Tanner's daughter Insert: Christina plays Hanako - the 'Kidnapped' Daughter and Tanner turns to Kilmer to help him try to recover his daughter safely. So Kilmer returns to Japan to do what he can for his then friend. He visits Eiko of which their mutual love is quite apparent but who will still not marry him. We also meet her brother, Ken Tanaka who once was a Yakuza himself but resigned and became a respectable swordsman instructor in the ancient tradition of Japanese warfare by the sword. Ken is a master swordsman. Ken is a strange man ("he who never smiles"), and only reluctantly helps Kilmer to rescue Tanner's daughter. He does so because of the totally Japanese concept of obligation or rather burden called "giri", a social tradition of the old world of Japan . . . see the Film for the rest ;) BOINC Wiki . . . I like your avatar showing Jodie Foster. I've liked her since I saw The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane. She's really a genius actress. Account frozen... |
