And thank you for making such a generous contribution even though US Navy Team was not the winner of the auction!

Thank You for pointing that out........
zeitgeistmovie had not been using the '.' when referring to the team in his first posts.....ooops....maybe he was and I missed it.
When you are joining a team and put 'Seti' in the search field, the results apparently come up in a more or less random order each time.....the SETI USA name must have been at the top the first time.......
I must correct the team I joined.....thanx again....
My bad.......now fixed.

Congratulations to Seti.USA and congratulations to Mark who has given proof to the line.....everyone has a price! :)

The big winner is of course Boinc/Seti with a fine financial donation and that ain't bad.

Mark this was a wonderful idea, you and the kitties are to be commended!

This is the correct team to join.

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=115396 The team that currently holds #1 for SETI is the correct team....

The rest are splinter groups :) Like the one you are a member of now..
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=33730 is not the correct team.

But until I have moved the donation you can be where you want.

You can double check me, but it should have been corrected earlier this afternoon when I made my last post here.......

I waited a couple of days before I posted this item. Still was a great idea of msattler to auction off his farm for the betterment of SETI.

This was from naxpworld on the US Navy team.

I would be willing to submit up to $150 monthly to add to our bid. I would foward the payments to Yank 15days before each monthly payment donation if Yank agrees, I would also be willing to add an initial $200 to the $500 bid making it an initial $700 bid and $150 monthly payments for 12 months. Let me know what you think. As an additional note , my servers will be down for 2-3 weeks , Im moving them to a better location with better cooling and am going to add the entire farm of servers by summer (120)Dual Core and Quad Core PCs but until then I can support with this server farm thats for sale.

Man O'man I wish that I had seen this entry a couple of days ago. We could of had the winning bid if this had been posted on the SETI message board under 'crunching numbers'.

I think some members of BOINC Synergy are not happy that their team did not win.

Question:

Do the credits of a banished member contribute to his/her team?

Yeah so I have heard. Alas we cant get any comments from the owner if the farm as every time I mention him the thread gets deleted. Oh well, such is life in the ET searching universe - the mods have to do something to pass the time.

Fred, yes the user in question still shows up the the winning team (as a banned member), so it appears as though his crunching is being counted

Could there be a team of just banished users.Could they just be given a penance, like 100,000 credits, and then forgiveness?

Remember that "the mods" are not a monolithic block, it could be "some mods" and there are others that don't agree with the actions taken -- and aren't aware of them.

I don't know why Mark was banned. I'd suggest posting to the setimods address and asking.

Sort of "community service" ?? ;)

Nice idea but the Frozen Penny could work that off in a few days whereas if Keith T (for example - sorry for taking your handle in vain) transgressed, it would take him about 4 years to work it off.
