Watching the various forums over some years, there's some interesting aspects for how the the forums themselves have changed and 'evolved'. There's also a few interesting episodes for how the people that participate have come and gone or changed, and for their 'moods'. Eric's latest changes look to be an interesting (good) idea and another tweak to the forums formula. Now, to also offset the questions of what 'Science' s@h does: Are there any psycology or politics students that could write a paper from analysing "life on the s@h forums"? [edit] Any comparisons to such as democracy/electioneering, or even to "Reality TV" or game shows? [/edit] Hey, we might have ET on here! How much crunchin' of the numbers and gnashing of teeth do they think they can wind us up with? And how can we guess what they might look like in any case when they do poke a finger into one or more of our dimensions from their pan-dimensional existance? ... And err... By certain rulings (eyes nervously flirt briefly to the left whilst typing with held breath), are we not already hopelessly 'ET'ed-OT after a mere 4 postings and so must be instantly vapourised into Vogon-esq rubble? Your connection for your post in relation to the previous posts? Or are you the "prime specimen" by virtue of greatest number of postings by any one entity, and your post there is a representative example? Your reference at first glance appears not to be as first suspected (sorry), but is it still "kiddie friendly"? ML1, as I watched the movie (and it's a spoof of Gladiator) I kept thinking of many ridiculous scenes that, at least metaphorically, matched scenarios in the SETI@home forums to a tee.
