I've moved to BOINC, running both CP & SETI. I've completed a number of SETI units but this is not reflected in my stats. Is this a known issue ?

Thanks

Hi Planetside,

it can take up to 2 weeks until you see the credits. Reason is, that each work unit has to be calculated by at least 3 computers within a timeframe of 2 weeks after the first download. Credit is only granted if the 3 results fit. If they don't the work unit is sent again.

It can take even longer to get credit if things are not working correclty. If any one of several servers is down, credit will be delayed. If a WU has to be sent to another client, credit will be delayed. Typically a WU is validated after a week or so, but you will always have a backlog of pending results.

Hi,

I have the same Problem. That it needs time to take effect on the credits is okay, but why doesn't take it effect on the "work unit"-Page? Three results are needed. Two results were sucessful. Just mine is still needed, although it was uploaded yesterday.

Thanks!

Transmitting the results is done in 2 staps:

1. uploading the results, meaning transmit the data of crunching to the server. This is the moment the signals of spikes, gaussians, triplets and pulses are returned for further analyze.

2. reporting the results, meaning claiming your credit.

As long as the reporting is not done, your results will not show up in the results page.

If you want some nice and detailed explanation, you might want to have a look at the Owner's Manual of Boinc as well as to the BOINC F.A.Q..

Your computer record showes no valid WUWUs being processed at this time, if you have 3 boxes 1 has 0 WUWUs, 1 has 2 over deadline and the last one has 1 over deadline....

Hi Pascal,

You have been looking to the hosts of planetside.

I was looking to the hosts of And-E who's answer I was responding to.
And-E has still to return his results.

But I don't know how. Or do I just have to stay online and wait? Could be very expansive for me :)

I also read the "Owner's Manual of Boinc":
"Note:
If the work unit is successfully uploaded, but a connection to the Data Server can not be established, the WU will remain on the Work Tab as "Ready to report" until a connection to the data server is successful. this may not be correct, I am still trying to unravel the logic again ... stay tuned

Ready to Report
A work unit with this status has been processed and is awaiting for a connection to be established and for the project's data server becoming available to accept the result."

Can I manually upload the results?

Yes just go to the projects tab and right click on Seti@home and Update.
