Hmm... so i guess the absolute minimum of the processors we can use for SAH would be a 386DX/SX? Or has anyone tried a 286 or even an 8080?

Someone should give THAT a shot.. just to see how many WEEKS/MONTHS it would take to complete a WU... oh wait.. has someone already tried that?

See the old thread about the "powerful P60" http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=39157. I think that it was proved that an old P60 could just manage to meet most deadlines if running 24/7. A P90 or P100 should still be capable of meeting all deadlines.

I know there are a few P200s out there. 233 MMX is slow enough for me! I do have an old Toshiba 110CS Laptop that rarely gets switched on, it only has 16MB RAM, 800MB HDD, so not enough for SETI. Are there any BOINC projects that will run in 16MB RAM?

19530s vs 1753s for a 17.3 cred Workunit...

Wowwee.. that's twice i've been paired with an ancient workhorse.. providence? Or mere luck of the draw?

What's even more amazing is that the guy actually uploaded and reported the task back even earlier than my rig.. Now that's WICKED amazing.... Props to gbobeck for keeping another venerable relic alive and KICKING!!!

I also have one for you PII 333 dual processor.
Running 24/7 and BOINC is always on.
