I used to like sports when men were men and used what God gave them to get the job done. Now the great records are being broken by steroids not men.

As for the Baseball story, you can be sure the paycheck will not stop.

I mostly agree with the steroids or any other drugs athletes uses makes sport
not sports anymore. It's performances, sponsers, moneys, etc.

I don't agree that steroids in sport are a huge problem, as opposed to athletics, swimming, cycling and other sports of a more purely physical nature. Sports that are highly skills and co-ordination based such as ball sports are less effected by steroids except that they can help a player return from injury sooner or improve their endurance over longer periods. No different to other advances in medical technology such as hyperbaric chambers and ice jackets for cooling. You have to make the best of the technologies that are available to you at the time to keep up with the times.

As for the sponsors and other money this all just makes sports more like a businessand also more interesting when there's not actually a game on.

Oh yea I agree. Not all sports are affected by drugs. Cycling is probably
the best example. There is no way in the world for any athletes to do the
tour the france without using drugs. Golf player most probably don't need
it...

i don't see how steroids help pick what type of pitch they are facing and steroids would probably slow their reaction time as well...those things are natural talent and the type of dedication that only a professional athlete can give to sport...no drugs will give THAT much assistance.

That's one of the silliest things I've ever read.

On topic: The Texans lost to the Chargers on Sunday. It was a ghastly thing to watch. I'm very disappointed.

You're in for a bad year, I think. The 49ers kinda jettisoned all their best players.

People watch hockey? I didn't know that.

It's not a strike, it's a lockout. There's a big difference. Strikes are when the players refuse to come to work. Lockouts are when the owners don't allow the players to come to work.

It's all over money, and since the average hockey player makes over $1 million a year, I have little sympathy for them. The players don't want a salary cap, even though you can look at the NFL and see that it's done wonders there. The players also don't seem to realize that the NHL is bleeding money, and if something isn't done, the players will get no paycheck instead of a smaller one.

Yes Lockout thanks for correcting me. I agree the players are to blame in that story. There is a big problem in the NHL and a long lockout will either make thing better or kill a few teams if not the hole league. Do you no how much it cost to go watch the Montreal Canadian here? Cheapest price is 150 CAD, all tickets are bought by corporates and there is no place for normal people to go
watch a game. It became rediculous.

The good news is former world F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve From Québec will be back on track with team Renault for the last 3 races of the season and for the next 2 year with Swiss team Sauber. I know nobody care, but I am very happy...

Michael is an extrordinary pilot. He certainly has the best car but his driving is so smooth and precise it's amazing. Not all pilots currently in F1 would have done so well with the ferari. Rubens is the best example. A pilot that is doing pretty well is Jenson. Give him a ferari and I am sure he could do pretty well against Michael.

I agree. Ralf is back for Shanghai with Williams. Jensen maybe with Williams next year. Could be a good year for Frank's team.

Jaguar are pulling out of F1 and also trying to sell Cosworth (Jordan & Minardi engines). 2005 could be an interesting year.
