Message 655847 - Posted: 7 Oct 2007, 18:42:28 UTC - in response to Message 655815.

Whoops with the link. All's well that ends well however

Seems most are reasonably happy with their results so as vague or general as the test is it isn't too bad an indicator (for a minutes worth of work).

Doesn't seem to be too many conservatives or centrists around here huh...

Figures since they probably wouldnt like the internet or looking for ET.

Incorrect.
A centrist is open to possibilities.
A centrist may be aware of Drake's Equation and, trying many different n-tuples as inputs, realize the many different predictions do not result in 0 other planets in this universe where life could arise, attain intelligence and, finally, communicate beyond planetary boundaries.
A centrist may hope SETI@Home will find a signal or may believe that with all the searching turning up 0 results so far, either the scientists will find a better part of the sky to listen to or see that the odds for finding life elsewhere are going down.
A logical/mathematical centrist may realize that 0 results so far is not proof against, hopes for the counterexample to the assertion "There is no (intelligent) life elsewhere" ... yadda, yadda, yadda.
Get the idea?
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

Urgh.. Where i wrote centrist i meant to write statist... I really must start going to bed at a regular hour. (close to 5am here now)

[edit] Oh and speaking of higher IQs there was a test for that at tickle.com too.

I scored 136 which was reasonably pleasing.

...smarty pants :P

Seems the silly thing to me is that they say that only 5% or something score above 130 but i know quite a lot of ppl that score over 130. and also it says that the avg score is meant to be 100 but the tickle test lists the avg scores by US state. all are between 110 and 115 (actually only DC got 115 so we can discount that). anyhow shouldn't the test be getting scored differently when the avg's change?

[edit]Though i guess you could argue that dumb ppl don't bother with IQ tests. Probably among their smarter decisions :P

I've always wondered what advantage/prestige does that membership really offer anyhow? Official bragging rights? Woot! lol

Passed got one wrong. Wasn't sure if the outs in an inning referred to cricket or baseball so put none. meh. i'll take it though.

you beat me by one, as well as the sports question I didn't pay close enough attention to the Bible question
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 50%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 50%.

And I took the official Mensa test and my result is 156 or above in the old test, Advanced Progressive Matrices Set III, Special Mensa Edition, which puts me in the upper percentile. I haven't taken the test for the Triple Nine Society or similar though, so I don't know my exact score above 156.

So yes, I have the Mensa keyring to show. :-D

"... pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose '... extremes,' ..."

In other words, wishy-washy.

Moi:

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%.

Surprise, surprise.

Wow...Really? :-) Funny how we got the same 100% score on both elements of freedom.

I will say though that I'm familiar with this Libertarian party 'test quiz'...and in honesty consider it a bit loaded in favor of their positions. It's part of their recruiting toolkit.
