The maelstrom of modernity changed the course of architecture too. Nothing appeared to be permanent except change. However, a few architects resisted this course. They believed that modernity fragmented society and made architecture meaningless. In order to set right this anomaly, they focussed on things that do not change in architecture. Architectural theorists like Christopher Alexander and Norberg-Schulz put experience as the foundational aspect of design and through that drew attention to the timeless way of building. These ideas are still influential in contemporary architecture. In this book Yatin Pandya follows these ideas and searches for the timeless quality in architecture. As mentioned in the preface, the book interprets Indian traditional architecture as universal dictums, which it wishes to reinstate in contemporary times. BOINC Wiki . . . Science Status Page . . .
