Hello, I have BOINC running ok as an administrator but when I try to log on as a normal user it shows an 108 file operation error, if I run as an admin (under a normal user account) it doesnt display the error but will not work on a unit!

Thanks

Tom

Did you put Boinc under Program Files on your Hard Disk?
If yes, try following:
1. uninstall Boinc
2. delete everything sitting inside the Boinc folder
3. Reinstall Boinc but directly under the root of any HD, not under program files
4. Run and attach.

Maybe you will need afterwards to merge PC's in "Your Account".

Hope this helps.

Greetings from Belgium.

Have another question.
Was Boinc running for the 2 users?
If this is the case, you'll get definitely the problem that S@H is not running for the 2nd user and you'll get the messages
Result xxx exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
and
You may need to restart BOINC to finish this result
in the tab "Messages"

BOINC should only be running for one user - if you are using fast switching, you should run the CLI as a service instead of the GUI, or you need to remove it from the startup of all but one user.

BOINC needs write priviledges to the account where it is installed. Tha administrator can grant write access to everyone for the BOINC directory instead of an uninstall/reinstall.

Hi All, thanks for the answers, I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it under a root (D drive)... I still get the same error, I have made sure it is not running on two accounts simultaniously. So how can I grant write privaledges to the 'user' (ie non admin) under win Xp pro?

Best regards,

Tom

EDIT: Found it, I had simple file security enabled (as default) so couldnt get the security tab! THANKS all sorted now..
