The mods should have a drop-down box so they can check off which forum a moved thread has been moved to, so the user can continue to read and post in it.

It might be a good idea for all users that posted in the thread before it being moved to know where the thread has been moved.

This could alleviate a lot of misunderstandings/complaints.

The first point (automatically include the new thread details in the notification email) is a good one.

The second (email all contributors to a moved thread) is (a) not really necessary as users can find the new thread from their post history and (b) not really practicable as it would mean scanning the thread for unique posters and (c) would generate extra emails which could easily annoy more people than they help.

I've got some good ideas, eh?
They don't all have to be. But, I promise, 99.44% of my ideas will be good. ;)

The email notice already contains the url link to the thread moved. Click the link and go to the thread.

I agree to all three points here.
